Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch & full undercard RBR

Froch was so slow it looked like he was punching under water. All guts and toughness, though. He really tried when most would ave in.

 

Could very well be, unless Bute finds that one shot that make people forget everything that happened before. I can't see Ward getting in a fan friendly fight using his current style, no matter the opponent.

 

Nah, you're scorecards are generally worse in my opinion.

Had the exact same score as IB. 119-109. I gave Froch the 9th.

 

at this level, a fighter should have several gameplans...

It wasnt bring imo. And Froch didnt win the last 3 rounds. He won the 12th simply on Aggression, even though Ward slipped most of his punches and was fighting back.

 

Good fight by Ward, a really decisive win. Feel bad for Froch though, he comes of as a very likeable fighter. I just noticed as I was reading comments on twitter that Oscar has blocked me :huh, I guess I should not have commented on his suspicious wardrobe choices.

 

What happened to Ward left arm? He looked in pain about it when he put it through his robe.

 

After hatin' on Froch following the Dirrell fight,
I actually learned to like Carl since then ...


A friend is in radio and insists that Froch was always accommodating and a great guest to interview ...


I think Andre Ward showed a lot about Froch,
the kind of stuff that Carl can build on to improve himself for Bute or Kessler II ...


To be honest,
I think Froch-Bute has more potential for high drama than does Bute-Ward ...

Maybe shoulda watched some tape of Ward's last few fights. If he's gonna infight with Sakio Bika, he'll infight with you Carl.

 

There aren't any big controversies here. I thought Ward clearly won rounds 2-6 maybe 2-7. The rest were either hard to score (for me) or for Ward but close. I don't know if Ward was just content to cruise or if Froch was somehow negating his efforts in the late rounds. Froch was dangerous untill the end and was never in a shell but didn't have the speed and maybe the timing to accomplish much.

I'm not sure about Wards decision to fight way inside on the ropes with Froch. He seemed to have such a clear boxing advantage and all that inside stuff seemed to be fairly even. Froch seemed to gain some traction in there and I think won a late round. Maybe he thought that Froch could have gained more ground if he (Ward) didn't commit to the inside.

I wonder how a healthy Andre Dirrel would have fared against Ward.
