Well he is in "bad" situation since he clearly beat the 2 best fighters in his division, i dont know he should beat winner of Froch Kessler(but demand isnt to big because he clearly beat them) and maybe beat 2 more well ranked guys at 168 and then move up there already isnt anything for him at 168.
you are right he should have took those challenges and indeed he would have been looked upon differently for sure. Personally i do not like the way he fights. I respect how successful his style is but have never liked some of the ugly boring ass spoiling he does in there. The thing is, we will never know what ward is thinking but i know for sure that a boxers career is quite short and can end at any time through injury or whatever. If i were ward is would want the big purse fights sooner rather than later cos you just never know. And i don't think he has earned himself enough money as yet and seeing froch /kessler do so must **** him off.
"Hey, look, its Andre, now i know twitter doesnt ask for your passport as proof upon registering". "Andre, how did you make your twitter account, they asked for my passport as proof"... "Andre, how much does a champ earn these days" "Whats your best PPV performance" Froch missed so many opportunities to embarrass him. Kinda lame to call him boring in a direct way.
there is not much demand for any fight involving ward against whoever..and there isn't much for him at 175.. Like is said in my previous post to you - from a fighters prospective boxing is about money.. ward will go where he can earn the most money.
I guess that would be in Nothingam to beat Froch again or in Canada to face Bute(if Bute doesnt get KTFO by Pascal):huh
I agree that not fighting Bute was a bad decision, he obviously tried to build up the fight and it backfired.
Where am I celebrating another mans money? Quote me if you like? I am just stating facts in regards to ward and his mind set in regards to froch and kessler getting better rewarded than he doesatsch
"Celebrating" because you talk about how much he makes i wrote you few examples that clearly show that that doesnt mean **** how much who makes, with who is better. Well that got to do alot with British fans, they pretty much stand by their fighter till the end, in America its different, but no doubt Froch earned what ever he gets he achived much more than anyone expected of him, but he simply isnt even close to Wards level and i really like both Froch and Kessler.
Well, the way Ward is probably thinking about it is like this: - minimise the risk of losing as much as possible by always fighting in my back yard - use whatever tactic is required to win even if it's ugly because ultimately a win is a win - once I'm the best in my division, and I have huge credibility, use my high status to get good fighters to give away a lot of advantages (e.g. boil down to fight me) because a win against me would give them the credibility they require - keep commentating on fights to remind people I am numero uno - plan for a lengthy career by making sure I am always at my best when I fight and by doing whatever it takes to stay unbeaten ... Despite his style which doesn't have mainstream appeal, because he is American and so in with the networks, Ward is earning close to or over one million dollars in every fight. Froch, on the other hand, has only had 1 huge payday - the one against Bute. Kessler is his second huge payday. Bute, also, whilst doing better than Froch on average, has only had 2-3 huge paydays and if he loses against Pascal, he goes back to the half a million paydays. Kessler is different. He's made more money than Ward and Froch together, I think. I would not be surprised if at the end of their careers, Ward will have made as much as Kessler, and more than Bute and Froch, whilst always having it his way too.
I agree.. although it took froch a long time to be accepted by his home fans.. We do stand by our fighters but they have to prove themselves as well. Froch proved himself by taking on all comers and travelling around the world to do so. He eventually got the respect a warrior like him deserves. Maybe ward should use froch as an example on how to become popular.
Tell me this was there any hometown decision for Ward in super six??? Froch got scores vs Ward 115 113 he would not get better in England no way that was embarrassingly scored to close it was nowhere near 115 113!!! Froch vs Dirrell was fight I and many others had for Dirrell.
If you don't think that fighting in your own backyard helps increase the chances of winning compared to fighting in opponents' backyards, YDKSAB.:good
