I thought you were talking about Bernard Hopkins for a second there.

Dirrell already showed you can stay away from Froch for 12 rounds if you want to. Carl will be unable to touch Ward, simple as that. He can try to bully Ward but Andre won't be intimidated.

I expect a boring fight with not much action. Ward using his single punch-grab technique all night long. Froch becoming frustrated more the fight progresses.

Midget AA tagged Ward all night and you think Froch won't be able to find him? :patsch

Comparing Ward to Dirrell is plain stupid, you really think Ward who loves to get inside, clinch and use his head is gonna run away for 12 rounds like Dirrell?

AA never put all his weight on his punches against Ward. You are the kind to say Ward has a glass chin and at the same time say he gets hit a lot. :nut

If Dirrell, who is not very bright, was able to avoid Froch, Ward can do it. He doesn't have to stay on the outside. In fact, if you read my post, instead of calling me stupid, you'd have noticed I wrote that the fight will be mostly on the inside. Froch will never feel comfortable. He won't have the time he needs to set up his bombs. He won't be able to land uppercuts because Ward is too fast for him. Froch will push, will be mad, but it won't make him the winner of the fight.

I read the fight completely different.

Froch's gameplan will be to stay on the outside and work his jab for the first half of the fight, winning the rounds and stopping Ward finding his way inside, upsetting his style and confidence. Don't forget he got a 4 inch reach advantage, no way he's not gonna exploit that.
Once Ward starts to get desperate and wild, he'll bring out the big shots. Froch has all the attributes and discipline to stick to this gameplan and win this fight.

SO, you're saying he's overrated as a fighter because he's boring?

    Ahhh...

I agree that his style is boring, and he has no charisma in front of the cameras. But he gets the job done in the ring. He has power, balance and intelligence.

    Basically, he's min-Wlad.

I like Froch a lot, in fact I think Froch is vastly UNDER-rated around here, and have said so many times. I think his unorthodox style and deceptive power, plus his reach advantage, give him a shot against Ward. (Bute would have no chance at all.) He's also a lot of fun to watch.

    - but if I were betting on the fight, my money would be an Ward.

Yes, but Dirrell likes to dance around and sting from the outside. Ward strikes me as a guy who likes to get close & bang. (Though I admit I've only seen 4-5 of his fights)

Unless Ward decides to adopt a completely different style, and how often do fighters ever do that, then this fight will be a bang-fest & Froch has a decent chance.

^ Even if Ward understands this, and he surely does, I don't think he'll be able to alter his basic style that radically.

Of course, I could also be very wrong about this!

To me what makes Ward the favorite here is that he is adaptable.
