Ward is a very good middle weight, Chad Dawson is a great fighter.

    Ward will be TKOED.

You wonna give us some X's and O's on this fight, PK? I know you like to speak your mind so why not put some clothes on that argument and spit some knowledge.

    The clocks ticking. So shoot!

I think in this fight Dawson has to fight Ward instinctively. Ward is the better thinker and Chad must not allow him to think. It may not sound like much but boxing is a game of split seconds. Dawson must change the distance and manage it well if he's to win this fight. That's my biggest concern for Chad, he's not instinctive enough. An instinctive fighter who mixes defense and offense almost simultaneously is gonna beat Ward, and those fighters are rare.

Another thing i've noticed and which will be in Ward's favour is, even though these two fighters are pretty much equal in speed. In fact Dawson might even have a slight edge. Ward imho is quicker with a single shot. Something that Bernard Hopkins wasn't at this point in his career. I don't believe Dawson gets off his first quickest shot quicker than Ward does. So he has to try and beat him in EXTENDED exchanges. That's where he'll have the edge. He has to use his better and more fluid combination punching and increase his output. He can't let Ward set the pace and tempo. Dawson MUST get Ward exchanging in extended periods and not in single shots.

ward with his usual in this one.

outscore dawson with the sharper stuff early.

then start smothering like a ***** and the fight degenerate from there.

can't believe HBO are doing a 24/7 for this.

nearly spat me cornflakes out when i saw that.

Even if it's as 'exciting' as a CNN special on snail farming. The tension alone will make it watchable. Not to mention the technical proficiency of both combatants.

Seriously, I think it’s a great match up that boxing needs. I don’t want to hear about how 'boring' this fight is going to be. These guys don’t have to be rock'em sock'em robots. The name of the game is to hit and not be hit. When this much is on the line, it’s always a good look for boxing.

I'm excited from a technical perspective but I'm not inclined to believe it will be a violently skilled spectacle. You'll appreciate it scientifically but it won't bring out the blood thirsty side of you. Though you never know.

I agree that even if its not a brawl, these sort of fights need to happen. Best fighting the best, P4P fighting P4P (where possible) etc

Speaking of blood thirst. You ever seen the horror movie 'The Cabin in the woods'? Where a group of friends go to the woods and reside in a cabin and start to get more than they bargained for.

My first thought before seeing that movie was, 'oh here we go, another tired, old re-shuffling of the same genre, and it won't even be an avant-garde'.

Well how wrong i was. You see, i read too much into the title and judged it by it's cover. In particular it was the titular Cabin in the cabin in the woods, that gave me those feelings. It sounds pretty run of the mill and common. But as i quickly realised, as soon as an unseen cellar door opened, the cottage suddenly became much bigger and larger. What had previously been seen of the cabin turns out to be only the tip of the iceberg. There's more below the surface, as all hell breaks loose.

When people watch this fight, it will be like the feeling i came away with after watching that movie. Suprisingly inventive and engaging.
