For the most part Dawson is a stationary target. Ward being quickier on his feet should get in and get out which will mostly fustrate Chad. If Chad can land something as Ward is coming in, he will have a chance. Also Ward prolly will not use his in fighting game in this one. Chad is pretty physically strong and pretty good on the inside.
I hope their is no controversy but considering its in Oakland you never know ..I could see a rematch between these 2 since Chad's fights always end in reamcthes ..This is the epitome of the best fighting the best and fights like these needs as much exposure as possible ! I also think it could be a very good scrap .I know these two have a recipe for a snoozer since they are both so technical but it might be better than we expect ..
:deal Exactly my feeling. I think it's a misconception that this will be boring, and a lot of people are going to feel pretty foolish on fight night.
I don't know that Chad is too stationary. I think it might just seem that way because a lot of his opponents (especially the seniors' tour recently) are too slow to get close to him so he's able to spend a lot of time dropping anchor and waiting for them, then holding them on the outside with deterrent shots. He's got a motor for when he needs to rev it up.
Ward UD...too active, too fast... Dawson will have his moments and win a few rounds, he has the power to hurt and KO ward, but I don't think he'll do enough to do so...ward UD...
Dawson's reach is the key in whether he makes a push to win. I think he'll be competitive, regardless, but he has to control distance in order to suppress the pace of the fight somewhat. For him, a good outcome is fewer and harder shots because he punches more emphatically than Ward. For Andre, he wants to muck it up and fight more frenetically to wear down Chad mentally and physically. I'm super stoked for this one.
I posted this in another thread: Ward will struggle to outbox Chad from the outside. Ward needs to close the distance and impose his physical strength. Once Ward can press him against the ropes, then he will win rounds. Fighting an opponent like Ward, who Chad was calling out, I'm sure we'll see the best Chad Dawson, he learnt his mistake from the Pascal fight. Chad's best chance of winning this fight, is getting on his bike, using his jab and keeping Ward away. No chance of a knockout in this fight. I think Ward's mauling tactics and infighting will be a nightmare for Chad. In Oakland Ward will have a referee who'll entertain his tactics and allow him to fight his fight. I see Ward closing the distance and mauling Chad to a decision. Good chance to make some money betting on Ward to win a decision
Man, SOG himself ain't even mad about PBF getting Best Fighter...and he'd whoop Silva and Jones on the same night. :deal #ClassiestDudeOnTwitter #****MMAFans
Dawson needs to use his left hand more, which was absent against Hopkins in the second fight (it was the reason why the fight was so close). Dawson throughout most of his career was mostly a one handed boxer, he rarely used his left hand, only in combinations (keep in mind Dawson is a right-handed southpaw). That changed when he switch to Floyd Mayweather Sr who made Dawson fight like a true lefty. Eddie Muhammad and Steward also had Dawson using his left hand more. I think Scully made Dawson too right hand dependent. Dawson's right hand is fine, he doesn't need any work on that. As a matter fact Dawson probably has the best right hand out of the southpaw stance in boxing.
you can't beat Sven Warddke in his lair,he has corrupted referees and judges over there.this is why Sven Warddke doesn't leave his backyard.
