Probably not the most fan friendly style match up but still an intriguing one between 2 very skilled technicians. Ward is a handful for anyone but how does he handle the crafty boxing skills of Muhammad, especially at his very best?

Ward was always in shape, good on the inside, but could fight at all ranges, a good body puncher. EMM had good power but was not consistent. I enjoyed watching AW fight and to me he would be a big favorite over EMM. I think AW could handle EMM similar to the way James Scott handled him if he wanted to, but AW had more versatility as a fighter than Scott did. AW wouldn't be limited to pressuring EMM and out hustling him.

Ward was too consistent for Eddie.

Depends on which Eddie shows up. Prime, motivated Eddie beats Andre to the punch. Even though he was frequently out of shape, Eddie fought just about everyone in a stacked division. When he was on, he was brilliant!

Mustafa could win but for the most part he underachieved while Ward was much stronger mentally and more consistent ...

What if the best Eddie Mustafa showed up? I think he could’ve been the greatest fighter at 175lbs if he’d had desire like Troy Dorsey. Eddies’s skills must’ve been immense to get into the ring consistently so disinterested and be successful. I honestly think he’d stop Andre Ward if he was motivated.

Is there any answer to why Eddie showed up just and went through the motions so often? It gave me a headache watching him - I never thought about why? LaMotta, Monzon and Tyson were hardly pictures of perfect home lives but they didn’t hate the spectator as much as EM in some performances.
