Hey guys, I was wondering if a fight between these two has ever been discussed on this forum?? I feel it would be a good fight even though they are currently two weight classes apart. Have either one of these guys ever offered to do a fight like this? Have either one of them ever declined for any reason? What kind of weight should something like this be contested at?? I don't understand why was a big potential match like this has never been discussed on this boxing forum so I felt like I should make a thread about it. Please discuss...
That's what I'm saying. This potential matchup, even though they are two weight classes apart, should have not only several of its own threads, but it should also blead into hundreds of other threads. Yet I look around, and there's nothing.
It was once discussed. The fight was meant to be at some undefined weight, but then one of them, or both of them, or even neither of them ducked. Pacquiao taking PEDs, Mayweather using an IV and Al Haymon being Al Haymon (whoever he is) didn't help matters.
Ah, I can see that. The Showtime/HBO politics, the Ariza shakes and Floyds 750ml probably caused Al Haymon to not "advise" either one of them, causing a potential fight to be impossible to put together.
Something about this mythical meeting at the HBO offices... GGG was crying in OZ & Ward was scared to pass the Game of Thrones room.
I heard they were so afraid of each other that Ward quit doing commentary on GGGs fights because being so close made him nervous and GGG threatened to go back to fighting in Germany if HBO didn't somehow force Ward to fight at light heavyweight against his will. Shocking stuff, really
this thread is terrible...and terribly unfunny dan is upset...upset his favorite swerved a p4p clash with ward in favor of dom wade and kell brook hes upset i questioned why sanchez is mentioning a fight with ward again this week...and why loeffler is mentioning degale this week...in the media...despite the fact that theyve signed to fight kell brook its a legit question i posed...but i think we all know the answer...deflection......but as usual poor dan made more excuses for the behavior of those affiliated with golovkin oh well...more of the same i guess....i remain unphased
I also heard that Sanchez and Loefler mentioned Ward and Degale this week because somebody was asking about them. Perhaps, in the future, when a reporter asks a question about a fighter they aren't currently signed to fight they should just stare blankly and **** their pants. Or, at the very least, call the Sh!tmaster first and ask if they have his permission to answer the question.
It's not clear, rumours are that GGG ducked, rumours are the Ward ducked. Abel did say, and I believe him when he says it, that the Golovkin-Ward fight will eventually happen. I reckon it happens around 2019. Very good matchup, but ward has this at 168+
