I know calzaghe has a more crowdpleasing style. Ward is a great fighter but gosh, his style is terrible form an artistic point of view
You are talking about a late 30's, brittle hands Joe Calzaghe, and a fight he clearly won. In his prime it would be a different fight b/c his power was much different.
Oh yes, whatever Warren says must be truth. Especially after his fighter severed ties with him. Who does he not talk **** about after they leave him?
I have, and from what I've seen Kessler was the same back then as he is now in terms of his physical abilities.
Have an eye exam lately? My God, look at the snap on his punches from then to now. The man has had a lot of injuries.
Dude why can't you just enjoy boxing for what it is without coming on here to put down one fighter and suck another's dick every time there's a fight? Jesus.
First 6 rounds Hopkins was able to keep Calzaghe either close or out of range and Calzaghe struggled, When Hopkins a 43 year old legs were getting to him Calzaghe was able to keep Hopkins in a more desirable range and landed some slaps. Ward a 26 year old, 17 years the younger of the Hopkins that put Calzaghe on the canvas would keep Calzaghe either too far or too close the full 12 rounds. I dont think a prime Calzaghe is physicaly stronger than Ward either. So far in this super6, two fighters who have decent power havent landed anything flush on Ward, not because those two fighters were ****, but Ward was able to nullify there strengths with basic movement and dirty fighting.
Against Cazaghe Kessler fought with a hand injury - we all know that, but against Ward there was no problems in that area, and Ward beat him imo more convincingly than Calzaghe did.
Kessler's jab, the lynch-pin of his style, is nowhere near as fast or crisp as it was a few years ago. That's why he's resorted to roundhouse punches and the like. Not that Ward wouldn't have beaten him in his prime, but the current Kessler is certainly not the same as the one who fought Calzaghe. Prime Calzaghe v Ward: Calzaghe UD. The sheer disorienting volume of Calzaghe's punches, coupled with the fact that he had power pre-hand injuries and the fact that Ward has zero power, pretty much ensures a Calzaghe win.
Calz\ghes whole career was a hand injury, Calzaghe gave the blueprint to fight Kessler. Unbeaten fighters are harder than beaten fighters. Calzaghe was slightly shot, Kesslers hands were fine, against Ward, Kessler had been inactive for ages too, Kesslers ruined due to Joe, these are facts. Joe beat prime Kessler fairly Ward beat slightly shot inactive Kessler by using headbutts and Calzaghes blueprint.
Crisp Jab? :rofl lynch pin? Again what do you fools not understand about the fact that Kessler fought bums? That the best fighters he faced were the likes of Mundine and Andrade? So what exactly seperates Kessler from the one who fought Calzaghe from the one who fought Ward? Besides the fact that unlike against Calzaghe Kessler wasnt hurt? Lets see, same robotic 1-2, no upper body movement, and average speed at best? AGain a "prime" calzaghe couldnt decisively beat Robin Reid and alot like Kessler fought a bunch of Eurobums for most of his career. I wouldnt be surprised if this green version of Ward gives Calzaghe a shallacking. I mean hell, a 50 year old Hopkins gave him all he could handle. What would a younger version do?
