    We will never know.

I do know both men would have a lot of trouble with one another, as both fighters have shown great adaptability.

A great, intriguing chessmatch with good action.

Calzaghe puts the dog bite on em'.

Too much for Andre Ward. A grown man, with cardio and rhythm. Stronger on the inside with faster hands, he dominates from the opening bell.

since this fight would only get signed for if it was -

    1. in Oakland
    2. when Andre is 40something (only age Joe will fight a great)
    3. when Joe is magically returned to postprime age (only form in which Joe will sign for a great)

then on the basis of those three stipulations, Joe wins a SD, losing first half of fight, then outgassing Ward late on.

We'll never know. Hell, we wouldn't have know when Joe was active because Andre couldn't offer "the crown jewels."

From a technical standpoint, I've always believed that straight punches beat wide shots. Andre should have little problem getting inside Joe's sweeping slap like punches and scoring clean blows. Ward UD, with Joe Cal winning some rounds based on activity, not effectiveness.

:patsch A schooling in which one fighter clearly wins 4 rounds and hears the final bell?

That's bad even by Joe nuthugger standards.

well prime v prime is different. A year ago you'd give it to Joe on workrate, fitness, they seeming equal on skill. But Ward has soundly beaten the two guys Joe ran from (Froch and Dawson) and shown immensely slick skill in doing so, meaning if not now then soon he will be globally seen as better than Joe.

We can safely say we dont have to wait for Andre to beat 16 tocker pudwills first. Any ****er with a steady mind can do that. Obviously Joe Cal thinks that himself beating 16 Tocker Pudwills means hes above fighting Froch and Dawson, well, hes welcome to his opinion of himself.

there was a time that calzaghe wasn't a slapper, but due to the volume of punches he throws he wore them down and ****ed them up basically. there ain't many slapping boxers than knock out 70% of the guys they face. so really a prime calzaghe would be before the slapping days. i think it would of been a close fight. can't ever see there being a schooling or knockout either way but who knows and we'll never know

Calzaghe wins a close, narrow and debatable decision, in an underwhelming fight

I've said it before, and i'll say it again, ask in 5 years time.

Either A) Ward is still unbeaten, and is elevated to god status and wins

or B) Ward has lost and is known as a hype job bum who calzaghe would clown

such is the way on ESB

I think it would be a very close fight, either guy can win it on their best night
