    Boxing is dead in the UK or at least no one knows about any fighters there, except die hard fans...Plus to make it big you need to be fighting in the US. You all harp back to the past, honoring an overrated Calzaghe, but nothing to look foward to. 1. Carl Froch - Super-middleweight Nottingham (32-2, 23KOs)
    2. Kell Brook - Welterweight Sheffield (31-0, 21KOs)
    3. Ricky Burns - Lightweight Coatbridge (37-2, 11KOs)
    4. George Groves - Super-middleweight London (19-1, 15KOs)
    5. Amir Khan - Light-welterweight Bolton (28-3, 19KOs) These fighters are either OVERRATED, FLAWED, UNTESTED, OR IN FROCH'S CASE OLD AND SHOULD RETIRE BEFORE GETTING BEAT BY ANOTHER FRINGE OPPONENT WHO LIKE FROCH SAID IS NOT EVEN WORLD CLASS. :hi: :deal :yep :D :lol:

    I know you're a fantasist, but even you can't possibly believe that you have any credibility on here?

    I had lots of knowledge on boxing before I joined here, and now I've gained lots more.

    If I hadn't have done, I'd have wasted nearly two years of my life.

    You should go on to the classic section and get yourself educated.

    I think you aren't seeing the forest for the trees A.

    Ward has already beaten the same level of opponent that Calzaghe maxed out at. Now, he may not have the longevity, and compile the #s that go along with it, who knows. And in that case, he might not get the same level of praise, but in terms of level of skill..... Ward is already there. He's pretty damned good in there.

    We're wasting our time des.

    Joe would have beaten Godzilla in his eyes, because he had a great engine, and could always adapt etc.

    but the point i was making is, just because Joe didn't stop those fighters i'd listed, doesn't mean that Joe wasn't a puncher back in the day, because he was. no one stops those fighters.

    Ward doesn't have anywhere near close to having the punch resistance that they had.

    could you see Ward taking 2 rounds of the shots that Lacy took? and this was at a point when Joe's hands are bad. i seriously can't.

    and don't come back with... "but Ward has better defence so wouldn't be taking those shots Lacy did" we're talking about the chin and nothing else. the same shots landing clean. do you think Ward makes it?
