Manny Steward called the fight perfectly, he said Calzaghes workrate would make Beranrd uncomfortable, and that would win him the fight, and guess what, that's what happened This is the guy who picked Lacy and Kessler to beat Calzaghe before admitting he seriously underestimated this "phenomenal fighting machine" better late than never, it's about time you Calzaghe doubters step out of denial too, take a page from Manny Stewards book
Hopkins won. He got robbed. Black and white. His work rate did absolutely nothing other than blind the judges just like when Oscar threw flurries against Pernell and Floyd
Easy win for Calzaghe, Ward is to slow and does not vary his work enough to worry the Welsh boy. Ward brings nothing new to this fight that Calzaghe could not handle.
No question Joe would of done this chump as groves will soon when andre thinks he has an easy pay day
Pure idiocy. People from individual European countries don't consider themselves 'Europeans', you know. I couldn't care less if it's some Italian or an American, for example.
Calzaghe wod out work ward and nick most rounds Ward wd have success yes and it wd he v close but his butting and clinching wdnt work same as it didn't for Hopkins Calzaghe in an ugly UD
realistically its a pick em fight calzaghe was insanely talented but so is ward cals work rate is exceptional and its a fair criticism to say ward did tire from the froch fight later on but ward would be ahead on the score cards by that point a late finish ko for calzaghe or a wide ud win for ward
You can't use a post-Ruiz Jones in any example of anything. Roy was never the same after gaining weight to Heavyweight and then losing weight back to LHW. Pre-Ruiz, a win over Jones would have meant something, but post-Ruiz not so much because Jones lost some speed and the snap on his punches gaining and losing the muscle weight.
