If you think Dirrell got robbed against Froch, that means he's number two, since Froch and Kessler now are old men. While Dirrel didn't look any good againt Froch, it's worth to point out that the idea of Froch as a caveman doesn't hold much water. He beat up Jean Pascal and Jermain Taylor pretty bad, so back in his prime he had both skill and speed. If you can hang with him, and arguable beat him on talent alone, you're a dangerous fighter.

When it comes Ward, I think it will boil down to where he has left to go. At the end of the day, boxers want to make money, and that's what pushes them into big and dangerous fights. After he's done with that fella DeGale knocked out, where has he got left to go? The winners of Andre Dirrell vs James Degale and/or Anthony Dirrell vs George Groves is his only options.

If the Dirrell brothers pulls through and Ward insists on beating up their leftovers, the networks and fans will probably decide they've had enough of him.

 

calzaghe, not even winning one of the biggest three titles till he is 34 against puppet lacy, fights bums, weaklings and cripples until he faces Kessler in his last fight. calttaaards think hes great for doing so.

before Ward is 30, ward beats everyone except for 2 fighters who are not keen to face him, on his way to unifiying the smw division.. and defends unified titles thereupon. and caltaards think he suks.

 

No he fought Rodriguez when he could of fought Anthony Dirrel. He was even named emeritus and he dropped it. Anthony Dirrel was pushing for the fight the only one who made it impossible was Ward.

 

Ward has said he doesn't want to fight Dirrel not the other way a round. Ward didn't even go into camp for the fight. Bute was not an over hyped bum and was seen as arguably the second best SMW. Just because A fighter beats an B fighter and B beats C doesn't mean A bests C. You should know that. Ward-Bute would of been a completely different fight. Froch took Butes confidence and destroyed his career not Ward. Bute had good wins and better performances against comparable competition like Sakio Bika.

Anthony Dirrel earned his number 1 mandatory spot Ward should of fought him period but he stalled for years and fought Rodriguez instead.

I'm not saying Ward can't beat him Ward is one of the most talented boxers I have seen in awhile. But the fight was high risk/low reward and Ward didn't take it. Even now that Anthony Dirrel is champ Ward said he won't fight him.

 

Andre Dirrel is fighting Degale and just beat number 10 ranked Edwards. He wants Ward when he has the title.

Anthony Dirrel has been calling Ward out if Ward actually fought him instead of basically dropping his belt then that would be better comp wouldn't it? Now he is fighting Jack ranked number 8 and then his mandatory Groves.

While Ward is going to fight someone ranked over 20 and I know it's been a layoff but c'mon at least fight someone in the top 20. Chaves has been out for awhile and he's fighting WBC 4 Fonfara and he's levels below Ward.
