I dont, but you dont get to claim someone on a 9 win 5 loss , 1 no contest (on the way to a loss) is in the throes of some "greatest" run. He was 40something. Deal with it.
hopkins, in his 40s, was not joes best opponent. He was perfectly beatable by outlasting him at high pace, by someone young enough and smart enough. But Ward certainly beat the shyte out of 2 handed kessler.
Prime Calzaghe by KO End of career Calzaghe by clear UD. No doubt in my mind. Calzaghe was better in every department. Kovalev was arguably the first time Ward faced a top prime fighter and Kovalev looked a clear winner to me and that was to do with how Kovalev was outboxing Ward with his jab. Calzaghe would have no trouble at all in winning this match up
It's hard to KO or walk through what is wrapped around you. Do you understand why Ward fights as he does? Or, here's a simpler question: Do you understand why Wlad fights as he does? Ward fights in the manner he does for a couple of reasons. And it's not because he has a great chin or great power. Calzaghe would smoke Ward. It'd probably be something like the Hopkins fight but with slightly less holding, no knockdown and Ward not taking extended time for fake low blows. And I like Hopkins. Also, there would be no split decision. Some fighters just have crazy workrates and if you can't deal with that, you can't beat them. Calzaghe. Vitali. Margarito. That's just a few. Mosley had the power to hurt Margarito. Pacquiao had the power and the speed. Paul Williams had comparable punch volume to Margarito's. Ward doesn't have power and he doesn't have the workrate to deal with Joe. He just doesn't. It'd be just another win for Calzaghe. HerolGeee mentioned the Reid fight. You mean the one in which Joe thought he broke his hand or did break his hand? And the fight in which I think Calzaghe took after a long layoff? If that were Ward instead of Calzaghe, the opponent would have been a no-hoper tune-up rather than Reid. Ward is a good fighter. But he's not as good as Calzaghe was and he's not beating Calzaghe head-to-head. No real shame in that, no one else around the weight not named Prime Roy Jones is likely to have a chance to beat Joe, either.
Ward would not lay a glove, a headbutt or an elbow on Zaggers. If you can't crack his chin, you aint beating him. Prime Roy, GGG, Froch, Kessler, Kovalev, and maybe Beterbeiv would all likely beat Zaggers.....as would Spinks, Hearns, and maybe Tito at a neutral weight.
It wasn't difficult to score unless you were rooting for Hopkins, nearly everyone had Joe winning 9 rounds. Ok so he ducked him with money as the reasoning, Joe agreed to 3 million which was the initial demand and for the fight to take place in the US, then when it was all agreed Hopkins flipped and asked for 6 million and then went and fought Hakkar, joppy, and robert allan making less than the original 3 mill agreed. Explain how that is not ducking and a good business decision? unless you work for the Obama administration.... Joe suffered from guys like Hopkins ducking him in the prime of his career, something GGG has a problem with now. Calzaghe was willing to fight them all but no-one would risk fighting him. No matter how you slice it Hopkins ducked a prime Calzaghe and got ring raped by a shot blown up Calzaghe.
Like Kessler said, he was protected and using every dirty move. When Kessler started unloading on him they got worried and called the ref in to stop the fight. I suspect Kessler would have knocked him out had the DR not been called in to unjustly stop the fight but we will never know for sure now. Another dubious ''w'' on hype job Ward.
Again this debate is pointless, Kov already exposed what shoe salesman Boone exposed. Ward isn't an elite fighter, he is a very good fighter and a master at spoiling fights but he isn't elite. Like Froch he is a level below the Calzaghes, Jones, Hopkins of the world.
When did I ever say that? Quote the post where you claim I said that. You cant because your making it up.
