He looked a good deal slower to me overall, punches less snappy, yes, he's always had brittle hands but in his last fights it was really starting to show. How can you be at your peak physical shape at 36? That itself is just common sense, unless you're a heavyweight? It just almost never happens. I think by that point the amount of fights he's had, coupled with the injuries, his age was a bigger detriment to him than any drainage prior to it.

I think he did a good job retiring when he did to be honest, I think if he continued much longer he'd have gotten beat. And I don't really count the clowning of Roy Jones all that much, Roy Jones was an old man, all there is to it. Had he fought that same old Roy Jones earlier in his career it'd have been an even worse clowning.

Speaking of Calzaghe though, Loma kinda reminds me of some ways of Calzaghe.

 

Especially when he does that hands down "in your face" move, same thing Calzaghe did against RJJ.

 

He looked the exact same in the Jones Jr fight as he did in the Eubank fight.. The speed and reflexes hadn't missed a beat.
Even while sticking his chin out in the air, asking to be hit and doing a little dance Jones still couldn't land a glove on him.

Its very possible to be in peak physical shape at 36 if you spent the last 10 years depleting your body to make a lower weight.
