yeah, only if ward were fighting the likes of thornberry, starie and reid right now, i'd give him a better chance. you couldn't get joe in the ring with ward. once the fight was signed, joe would fake an injury to get out of it. ask glen johnson.

 

Sorry, just can't see Calzaghe dominating Ward. His win over Hopkins is debated still and it certain that Ward could beat Hopkins. Calzaghe has a high work rate given but I see Ward neutralizing that. It's not exactly a beats b therefore beats c, Ward just has the skills

 

I like joe. Always reminded me of a bazzaro world Roy Jones. But... Ward ****s em up maybe stops Jo and here's why. Joe doesn't like the ugly fight. Hopkins, bika both did decent jobs of taking away joes ability to jump in and out whenever he wants to and pepper shots. Wards inside game is the best in boxing and at range his jab is a ****in nuke. Joe would have to get in and get off first and get out. I can't see him doing that against ward for 12. Eventually ward will make a dog fight and when that happens joe looks to the ref. in England he gets the nod anywhere else we watch ward beat his ass

 

Picking Ward over prime Calzaghe is like picking prime Calzaghe over prime Jones... wouldn't happen..:good

 

The younger, green version of Joe that beat Eubank hit much harder than older Joe... But as Joe aged his style changed and developed a bit of slickness and was a much smarter fighter...

That said, I would pick the version of Joe that beat Lacy to dominate the version that beat Eubank, and beat Ward in a close clear decision..

It seems I remember reading Joe saying that the 07 version of him would work the younger version, but I can't find the thread or link.. Am I dreaming? Or did he say that?
