the later version of Calzaghe would have a few early problems with Ward's holding, but he would eventually get to grips with it.

a prime Joe would rip Ward's head off. he fights much much better on the inside than does Ward. Ward just plays into all of Joe's strengths at that point.

 

WRONG! Joe wanted to fight Hopkins years earlier but Hopkins priced himself out of the fight. something he did a lot of.

By supposedly chasing a guy at 175, who fought in America, while he stayed in Britain at the weight division below?

Ward beat Froch with AN INJURED HAND.

After the Super Six, he said he wanted a rest, and he'd let the Bute fight gather momentum. Meanwhile Carl stepped him and destroyed him. But Andre to my knowledge doesn't possess psychic powers. So there was no way he could have known that Froch was going to do that.

Wards' first fight after the Super Six, was against Chad Dawson that was 9 months later.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Andre ducked Bute, out of fear of losing to him.

We all know that Chad was weight drained against Ward, but Dawson's camp at the time of signing the contracts, didn't think it would be an issue.

Dawson was more proven at the time than Bute. So why would he duck Bute to fight another skilful southpaw in Dawson?

Again, Carl fought Bute, while Andre was having a rest. He deserved a rest after winning the tournament just 5 months previously, and having an injured hand. Or are you going to say his hand wasn't injured?

Andre is only 29. There's plenty of time for him to move up.

Bute's circumstances were different to Ward's.

Ward had injured his hand, and wanted some time out.

Do you want me to find you evidence that Ward was injured and needed/wanted a break?


With regards to Joe, a lot of people wanted him to face Tarver.

His response was - "Tarver's done nothing, apart from beat a past his best Roy Jones."


People wanted him to fight Pavlik.

His response was - "Pavlik's done nothing."

But then bizarrely, he went on to say - "We offered Pavlik a fight a few years ago, but he wasn't interested."

How does that make sense?

He was open to fighting him when he hadn't done nothing, but when he'd made waves with his wins over Taylor, and he was well known, and people wanted to see the fight, Joe wasn't interested.

Ha! Makes perfect sense.


Instead of fighting Pavlik or looking to fight Dawson, he took on Roy, who'd he'd dismissed as a challenge just 6-7 months before they fought.

Joe never ripped any fighters head off and he certainly isn't going to do it to a great fighter like Ward.
Joe was also useless on the inside and would not be able to deal with the physical strenght that Ward brings in close.

 

there is no way on earth that joe would face ward.

if they were the same age, he would come up with some excuse, like -

Interviewer - ' so Joe what about a fight with unified SMW champ Andre Ward who just beat the lineal LHW champ?'

Calzaghe - 'oooooh, Andre Ward, the unifed champion who just beat the lineal LHW champion? Ooooh wellll HES DONE NOTHING!'

Interviewer -'but Joe that means hes done more than you'

Calzaghe - 'oooooh bugger I've done nothing! ask me again when he turns 40, boyo'

Carl fought Bute in May, and the contracts were signed sometime around March.

Andre was only given the all clear to resume training again, mid Feb.

There's no real evidence or logic, to say that Andre ducked Bute.
