Yeah I agree. But with that being said....who would have been a better match-up?

I approve. Not much out there for Ward while he waits on Kessler to win his fight.

Also, if this can't dig out the best possible version of the current Pavlik, then I don't know what will.

Like said above Ward hasnt got many options and on paper this could've been a good fight. Pavlik's washed up now though isnt he? Easy nights work for Irish Andre.

    That's the problem.

But a top 5 p4p fighter taking on a struggling alcoholic who hasn't looked decent in good knows how long, who clearly only in it for the pay day is an awful match up.

It's a shame that having a name is all it takes for you to get fights, no matter what shape you're in. (see Shane Mosley).

It is really. You think there is any chance of Pavlik winning this?

Its not advisable for any fighter to take Pavlik lightly. He looked sharp against Jaco and and i'd pick him to put Bute away after what i saw last weekend.

Judging by you guys perhaps I'm being a little harsh on Pavlik, but I can't see Ward being troubled by Kelly.

Don't think Pavlik has much hope of winning, but he does hit like a mule, and when you can hit like that there's always an outside chance.

I just think he'll struggle to land anything clean all night.

I agree with what Shaunster is saying. Pavlik, based on his recent performances and being waaaaay past his best, does stand very little chance.

But I have to be honest, without having to think too hard, it's the only opponent currently available that catches my interest. And yes, that's because he's a name. Ward's people know what they're doing.

Id dont give Pavlik any hope either, but he has one last opportunity to achieve something big and that means something.
