Ward needs a decent(top10) LHW win before going against Kovalev. Until then the fight is Adonis vs Kovalev. If Ward moves up and Adonis keeps ducking, then yes, it might be "the fight".

Would love to see this fight. The most likely outcome is Ward by UD. However, I also wouldn't be that surprised if Ward knocked the overrated Russian out.

You can't really call the dawson debacle a LHW fight.
But you're right about your second point.

People need to realise, ward is not much of a threat too kovalev. Only stevenson and beterbiev. Kovalev would break ward up.

    The point is this:
-Ward clean up the division, uncontested
    - debuckled or not, he punished a very talented Chad
    - he is NOT afraid of laying it on the line against anyone
    - if someone can give trouble to Sergey, is Ward ...fluid boxer/puncher, smart and adapts to his opponents....I don't know about you guys, but before the stoppage Sergey was starting to show signs of fatigue....but as a puncher always dangerous, and Ward clearly understand that fact
    - I like Ward on this match!

    He'd be killed

    And he knows this

Hence he refuses to move up

Kovalev thrives against boxers, it's the brawler types like Pascal (or Beterbiev in the future) who give him problems
