I think Bute is a lot better than Froch and if the fight is in Canada he takes it haha but seriously Froch had plenty of oppratunities to land and didnt, he could have won but he fought completely different than how i thought he would. its a toughie, only way to know is for them to fight
With all due respect to Froch, that probably had something to do with the fact that Ward is a superior tactician.
I just can't see what Bute has that would produce a radically different outcome to last night. Might take a couple more rounds but Ward is on his own at SMW now.
Bute is a great fighter. However, his only move on the inside is to lean against you with his right side to create room for a left uppercut to the body. Other than that, and he runs for dear life. Andre Ward has the footwork to get inside Bute and beat the living **** out of him. He will not stop the pressure either, and this is how you beat Bute (see Bute/Andrade 1). Bute is going to have to box him on the outside, but, will find he cannot against someone with superior footwork. I fully expect Ward to get in his face, and counter his left body uppercut (which he has to wind up on) with a short left hook. Ward by KO.
Speed & accuracy, if I may. So let me get this straight; you think Bute runs for dear life when he can't land the uppercut on the inside? You think Bute can't hang with Ward on the outside? You think Ward KO'es Bute? Uh. Ok boss. Bute loves pressure btw, he's more effective on the backfoot than he is attacking. (see Bute/Andrade 2)
Bute would be Wards toughest fight stylistically. I don't think Bute would be smothered and handcuffed as easily as other Ward opponents because he has good reflexes and throws very good short punches. He's not bad on the inside either. Ward would be favourite after that performance against Froch, but Bute is a lot more skillful than Froch imo. Don't sleep on Bute in this fight. He's a very sneaky puncher.
This is true. Bute has those sneaky punches you don't see coming. His biggest issue is he keeps his hands low to create those sneaky opportunities. That will problematic against an opponent with the fast hands which Ward has. Keith
What a bold call. Even if Ward wins a close UD, you're off. I think Ward fights as the aggressor in this one. He'll believe pressure is the way to go vs Bute. ...until Bute decides to take one of Ward's jab or lead rights flush so he can counter with a power left whether that be to the head or body. Then you'll see Ward make adjustments, and/or Bute going for the kill. Bute 8-4 UD, 116-111 with SOG hitting the canvas once in the late rounds, on a body shot. :hey
