It's quite old actually, i'd say 8-12 months iirc.

He say's what Ward has bascially said.

It's a poor move to pull, imo.

It's pretty obvious that Bute is not a man that want's to "test himself".

For what it's worth, I had Ward a heavy favourite to outpoint Froch easily, based on his doing that to a number of other good fighters (Kessler in particular). The Froch fight only further confirms the extreme talent and skill that Ward had already demonstrated.

Since I don't see Bute as being substantially better than Froch or Kessler, it's perfectly sensible to predict a similar outcome if he were to fight Ward.

The responses in this thread (if not the poll itself) suggest to me that Bute has acquired an undeservedly high reputation, partly because of his magical 0 and partly because more-than-casual boxing fans like to show off the fact that they know more than the casual fans, who haven't heard of Bute (for obvious reasons). Kinda like boxing hipsters.

You need to be clear when you mention two subjects who the "he" refers to.

Anyway, Bute is clearly one of the top guys. If Ward doesn't want the fight because of some sort of moral high ground then that's just pathetic.

No, it's not because Kessler, Froch and Bute are very different fighters. To make that assumption (which is all it is) is completely uneducated.

Ward put on a great display last night but he did exactly what many expected in the manner expected of him, and he faded towards the end. Bute presents very different problems because he has fast hands, he moves well, he's got good defence and he can punch well with single shots and combinations.

The responses in the poll above indicate the exact opposite of what you've said because you clearly can't read.

Bute is quality and he's shown it by handling lesser fighters comprehensively. He's the best challenge out there for Ward at 168 and, if the American handles him as well as he has done in other fights, then he deserves huge respect.

Bute would batter Froch and Kessler at this stage.

I'm really not sure if you're criticising Bute or Ward, but I thought Ward's response to the question on Ring TV was remarkably hypocritical. He complains that Bute's been fighting at home, hand-picking opponents.

Well, sorry Andre, you've fought all bar one of your S6 bouts in California, your hometown, and all of your fights in your home country. Between Froch and Kessler you fought two B-level guys (and Green is really C-level going by how Johnson took him out) and one A-level guy who had been exposed two fights in a row. And let's also remember you were just as keen to avoid fighting Dirrell as he was.

So, please, tell me what moral right you have to a) criticise Bute and b) avoid him for something you're just as guilty of?

Froch, Kessler and Abraham are all completely different stylistically, but Ward shut them all down totally. Ward strikes me as being a complete boxer - I'm not particularly a fan of his style because it's kinda tedious to watch at times, but I don't see any gaps in his skill-set at all.

Since Bute, good fighter though he is, is hardly outstanding in any particular aspect of the game, I don't see why this pattern shouldn't generalise to him.

The poll seems about right, but comparatively many of the comments in the thread are claiming that this is a 50/50 fight. I wanted to say that if anyone wants to bet with me on this fight (should it take place) on a 50/50 basis, I'd be delighted.

In others words, Ward has yet to beat him because Bute's didn't participate in the super 6. I agree that it's the obvious next fight for them both, but I hardly think Bute deserves credit for this state of affairs.

How could Ward have pulled a "Mayweather" (He waits for his opponents to grow old or lose steam) when he has faced the best opposition out there?

Pay attention next time, you ****ing idiot.

    I ment Bute ud..

Bute would box Froch ears off, Bute would be way to fast had and foot speed and he has real good head movement and he carries goob power in both hands now froch is to slow and has not KOed anyone in a couple of years.
