You also must have noticed that being American and long time unbeaten isn't automaticly enough to be called #1 P4P anymore like it used to be. No matter how good Floyd is, even with Manny screwing up against Marquez Pac's still #1. And let's be honest here, Ward isn't near Floyd with skill, popularity and potential.
:rofl It's amazing that people here think Bute will beat Ward. My only hope is that that confidence makes it way to the odds makers in Vegas so I can make out like a bandit when it goes down. This is going to be some of the easiest money I will make on a fight a true suckers bet like Ward-Kessler. Ward is going to beat the **** outta Bute if they fight he's so much better technically that its not even funny.
It's amazing that you're dismissing Bute's technical skill level completely. "It's not even funny" - I think your post actually is. Close one to call, can see Ward switching stance a lot to give Bute a lot of unexpected situations e.g. no consistency at all in his offensive approach. Can also see Bute timing Ward coming in and working the body enough to reduce Ward's workrate. Close UD either way, with slight possibility of KO for Bute IMO.
Bute will get a lesson in boxing if this fight ever takes place. Ward will take the fight to Bute on the inside bust him up, frustrate him and outbox him from the outside as well. Ward is light years more complete. With his adaptability defense and underrated tougness. He's also faced better comp and is far more proven. Bute is far more one-dimensional who will not be able to handle a ring general like Ward he's too savvy he will take him into the deep waters before drowning him. Ward is a higher level fighter than Bute and holds the stylistic advantage in this fight and it's easy to see.:deal
How often are people going to use that old chestnut. Harrison is the exception to the rule. Most Olympic gold medalists go on to have successful pro careers.
Froch looked way more like a ring general vs Abraham than Ward did. Bute found a clever way to neutralize Bika (post R3) where as Ward still ate rights in the late rounds, in the pocket of all ranges. It's weird that Ward's ring generalship is inconsistent, rendering Kessler's offense useless and making him fight his fight, but fighting Bika's fight regardless of his own ability to control a fight from the outside. Miranda floored + UD'ed Green, Bute KO'd Miranda, Ward wrestled Green. Power comparison is all Bute. Plus, I don't see how Ward holds a stylistic advantage over Bute as Ward never fought powerful, accurate counter-punching southpaws. Same for Bute who never faced versatile, defensively very sound switch hitters. "Ward is lightyears more complete" - if that's not bias, what is?
Ward is so good he couldn't solve Bika and made a very dull fight against Green but he would win easily against Bute. Get the hell outta here. Ward is featherfisted and he knows it. He always fights cautiously and that prevents him to beat the **** outta his opponents. He'll win against Froch because his skills will help him avoid the Brit punches all night long. Bute is another story. Fast, southpaw, powerful, good timing and accuracy and an underrated defense based on reflexes and counterpunching. Ward is very good but you have to be a nuthugger to think he'll win easily against Bute when he wasn't able to do it against far lesser opponents.
Ward is the 2nd most skilled fighter in the world. But yes Floyd is head and shoulders above the rest. NO PAC is not number 1 nobody actually believes that not even Ring Magazine. Ring Magazines people who chose the pfp even say they believe Floyd would win the fight.
now i'm sure you haven't.you boxrec both guys and copy paste that "taking him to deep waters" crap from fellow trolls like alien or the_president from previous threads and you want to pass as connoisseur.get the **** out of here clown.
You MTL guys are delusional when it comes to Bute and I'm here to give you a sobering dose of reality.:deal Ward is clearly a level above the likes of Bute and he has him beat in all departments except power. Styles make fights and Bute's style plays right into the hands of a technician like Ward. Bute makes a lot of mistakes and is very flawed himself. He can't fight inside for **** doesn't deal well with pressure a low workrate and a suspect resume and stamina. You seem to think Ward his feather-fisted but he hits hard enough to get his opponents respect. Ward will outbox and grind Bute down in the late rounds.
