Andre Ward vs. Lucian Bute.

Should take into account that Bute was fighting away and Froch at home, which is a situation Ward never faced or that Froch was rejuvinated and fighting at home rather than having his 4th fight on the road and his 5th fight out of the last 6 on the road

 

It was only fair that Bute fought The S6 runnerup before Ward. Kessler was regarded as the best SMW before the S6, so if anyone should have had the opportunity to wait out the winner of the S6 it should have been him.

 

Nobody knows, but we do know that he never faced Dirrell, we do know he decided against Degale, I dont think he has ever faced a mandatory, we do know that he hasnt really faced any top SMWs since facing Froch all those years ago

 

Dawson was willing to put his LHW titles on the line if they fought at a catch weight of 170. Ward said no, no , no its 168 or no fight. Ward knew that a tall lanky LHW like Dawson would be a dead man at 168. Plus Dawson is mentally weak. He quits and gives up on things. He had already lost the fight before the bell rang.

 

I couldnt say if he was scared or not, but I dont know why you keep saying this when they are completely different fighters and not really similar, even though you try and post stats about stance and height etc

 

This is why Haymon and other promoters never wanted Andre Ward. Not worth the trouble. Not much money there. Even 50 Cent passed up on him!!lol

 

The last time I saw you in this same debate Loudon you were fending for Ward and then arguing with him. Please dont pretend to have forgotten.

Ward mentioned the S6 winner should face Bute, then later mentioned that Bute should face someone else first and then when that was happening claimed he wanted to face Bute but Bute hs decided to face Froch instead, so which one was it?

 

do you think G Johnson who Bute easily beat did, or A Green? Abraham and dirrell even? or Taylor coming off a KO loss

 

Ward didnt face Dirrell and with Froch, Ward was the home fighter.
If say Ward faced Kovalev in Russia, would Kovalev be considered the home fighter if it was in Russia but 200 miles away from where Kovalev was born? I would think of Kovalev as the home fighter

 

I can think of several at SMW alone over the years who I rate higher

Why do you call Bute a mental midget when he agreed to face Froch in Nottingham which is something Ward openly wouldnt agree to do?

The comp was odd in some ways. An opponent of wards drops out and he gets 2 points, whereas Froch had to fight a replacement.
I did watch it through to the end but to me it was a division in a low period, which I think is still suffering a bit

 

Lets all just be honest people. The Super Six Tournament was just a bunch of promoters trying to make a buck. Dibella, Shaw, Goosen in collaboration with them over in the UK/EU sold people that all using green/unknown and shot fighters ! Sold us that garbage! In no way did that tournament prove the winner was the best at 168. Nope sorry it doesn't.

 

I only really watched the legitimate fight in Ward vs Froch. The problem with Andre Ward is he never went overseas to establish his name. There are more Ward fans over the pond than they are here in America. He should have went on the road and tapped into that market.
