Actually, Hagler would be the one to find away. Ward could run, as they say....well, you know the rest.

NOBODY could keep the Marvelous One away for a full 12 rounds. Not even Ward.

I gave Ward the benefit of the doubt & went for Hagler on points.

It's far more comforting to think Marvin would have enough to get by Ward.
But it wouldn't be easy.I know Marvin is naturally right handed and could switch but Ward gave a masterclass in anti-southpaw boxing at the weekend.
They also both have excellent workrates,so it's a very close fight.
I'll abstain for now.I'm old enough to have seen Marvelous in action.

I think Ward's size and versatility give the smaller Hagler fits. The question is whether Ward can take Hagler's bombs and relentless pressure.

Ward's looked brilliant so far, but it's too early to say he beats someone as great as Marvin. I won't outright go against him either, though, given the size and strength advantage he'd hold.

Also, Hagler was a better boxer/mover than he was a pressure fighter. Not that he couldn't fight effectively that way when needed, but I don't get why so many see him as just that.

I love Hagler, but Ward would give him fits.

Sorry , just had to post again.

Maybe I am getting old , but because Ward beats Kessler , Froch and Dawson , three pretty average champions Ward is then competitive against the greatest middle of all time?

    Please , I need a coffee.

It's too early bro. Ward needs to do more. I'd take Hagler because he was a beast. But the reason I think Ward could at the very least hang with him is because his style actually translates to the past unlike a lot of current fighters. And he's tough as nails. He's not stopping Hagler though. I'm not jumping off that cliff lol.
