One wonders whether Mikkel Kessler really deserves loony haters like some of the ones in this thread.

A commensurate gentleman ... who has a deeper resume than anyone else at SMS.. who has always fought cleanly with respect for the noble art and who still only ever lost two fights .. to ward and calzaghe. Never KOed or lost a shutout in those two despite fighting away in both and even getting rounds despite hostile judges and crowd.

I wonder what Mikkel feels and thinks if he reads this thread.

Carl Froch deserves more respect for this win than disrespect:-

Is you going to deny that?

Froch came from behind and knocked out the man in one of the greatest come from behind KO wins in recent history.

Also adding a few more facts:-

    1. JT was favorite
    2. It was Carl Froch's first title defense
    3. It happend in JT's country, the USA
    4. Jermain Taylor was #5 ranked WBC contender

The point: Carl Froch deserves more respect that disrespect for the Carl Froch TKO11 Jermain Taylor

Only haters will deny the man his respect.

Andre Ward hasnt travelled out of his country to do a title defense, Carl Froch came out of his comfort zone and put it on the opponent.

Listen to what Dirrell was saying at the faceoff:-

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jkjy2dhM6M[/ame]

    1. Dirrell says "your scared, hes scared, he got to be scared"
    - Dirrell was the more scared of the two.

    2. Dirrell was trying to get jiggy with the opponent and have a dance
    - Thats a ****** move to pull

    3. Dirrell was inching his face closer and closer to Froch's lips
    - Another ****** move to pull

    4. Dirrell made promises
    - And fought like a scared child.

    5. When his promoter came in between the two he started using abusive language.
    - Another ***** move.

That is just the face off, when you watch the fight:-

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fztqCbOUiTY[/ame]

Dirrell wants to go on his knees, wants to hug, and wants to run away throughout the fight.

You got the Froch vs AA prediction wrong didnt you, it happens dont mean it was because havent seen enough boxing. Go and learn that **** son.

And at the end of the day it was Jermaine Taylor. Yes he gets credit for getting a last second KO victory. He doesnt get credit for the fact he had to do it against a fighter who was never as good as advertized and proved it before and after the Froch fight.

    :lol::lol::lol:

And yet you give no credit to Dirrell for not only being his first shot at a title, fighting away, but being his first 12 round fight of his career. And he got robbed.
The only one to have benefited from bad judging and refereeing has been Carl Froch. Ward has dominated every single opponent. So this means nothing to me.
Run away. :rofl Was Mayweather running away from Hatton. It was the better more skillful boxer allowing the more uncoordinated poorer boxer to come forward and walk into punches. There is no boxing trainer in the world that would have told Dirrell to stand and trade with Froch, where he had the hand and foot speed advantage.

Even Antonio Tarver while watching the fight said Dirrell came with the correct gameplan.

The one to sully the fight was Froch when he body slammed Dirrell in the 5th round, when he repeatedly rabbit punched him in the back of the head, and pulled him to the ground.

To say Dirrell fought scared his hilarious. Dirrell looked confident throughout the fight. It was his first 12 round fight in away territory and he had the crowd, the refs and the judges against him. He was repeatedly fouled and came out and fought the 10th, 11th and 12th like he wanted to win a championship and even hurt Froch.

You dont know **** about boxing. :good

Yeah, the gameplan was so great that he lost.

If Andre Dirrell wanted to win, he should have taken a page out of Bernard Hopkins book. It is a no brainer to realise that Dirrell needed to be more offensive minded, not just dance away and throw occasional counter punshes.

He lost because he was fighting in Europe. Had he been fighting in nuetral territory he would have won a 8-4 type decision. Most likely Froch would have been disqualified before the 9th.

You dont even write "Nottingham" or "England". Do you suggests that Dirrell would have been robbed at any location within Europe? Do you have a scorecard for Dirrell vs Froch, with a round by round analyze by the way? If you have, I'd like to see it.

To me, Froch vs Dirrell mirrors Calzaghe vs Hopkins to a certain extent. In both cases we have one offensive volume puncher, and one defensive minded counter puncher who can be said to land the cleaner shots. The controversy around both fights are simillar, with The Cleaner Work Squad going at it here on ESB like in a frenzy. My point is that even in USA, dance away, hold, and land a counter every now and then is a gameplan that easily goes down the toilet. What it boiles down to, is that Dirrell seemed to have the tools to get the win. But he bottled it because his gameplan was ****.

Saying that Froch would have been DQ is a dumb argument and it would have been better for the debate if you left it out. It smells of ESB-trolling. If you watch boxing as much as you say, you know very well that the ref only plays the DQ card in extreme cases, because they dont want to kill the event. It takes Miranda hitting the opponent in the nutters over and over again, or AA taking a full swing at a sitting opponent. Frustration acts or rubbit punches wont to.

Dirrell not only hit Froch a lot more often, he hit him harder. The only fighter buzzed in that fight was Froch. It was a robbery. I like Froch, but it was.

    7 rounds to 3. 2 Even Dirrell

I have a round by round analysis somewhere around here. Hell just watch the videos. They tell you everything you need to know about the fight.
First off fights are scored by

    1. Clean Effective Punching
    2. Effective Aggression
    3. Ring Generalship
    4. Defense

IF there is NO clean effective punching in the round. Then you go to EFFECTIVE aggression. Then so on and so forth.

If one fighter is landing clean punching and the other fighter is flailing away more missing, then the round goes to the fight who lands the cleaner punches.

As for the comparisons between Froch and Dirrell vs Calzaghe and Hopkins, its laughable.

Not only was Dirrell more busier against a drastically inferior defensive opponent to Calzaghe, he landed far more clean punches on Froch then Hopkins did Calzaghe.

The Showtime Commentators repeatedly said the Froch deserved to have points taken away. This was throughout the fight. The way froch was rabbit punching Dirrell putting his health in danger, there is a high possibility he would have been DQ'd by any legit ref.

The comparasion only aimed at the gameplan. Thats why I wrote to a "certain extent". I realise Froch vs Dirrell was more controversial.

Saying "high possibility" with a "legit ref" is a bit more balanced then "most likely". I can see Froch recieving a warning or point deduction in the states. A DQ would have surprised me heavily. So I still think you are wrong, but will just leave it at that.

If I ever can be arsed to try to score Froch vs Dirrell a second time I will make a comparasion with your scorecard and perhaps get back to you. But several down to earth posters agreed that Dirrell took it, so it would probably be a waste of time.

:good You give Froch credit where its due, fair enough.

    :lol::lol::lol:

I have told you before, I had Dirrell winning a close decision but I wasnt impressed by his *** moves. I wasnt impressed on him calling Froch scared and then fighting scared himself, him going on his knees and hugging at every chance and not saying No homo afterwards was disgraceful. Especially as the fight went longer the more *** Dirrell turned out.

My point here was Froch deserves his props for going into the oppositions backyard and so often. He suffered a fair bit when he went to copenhagen and didnt have the knock down in his favor with Tillemann giving Kessler about 11 rounds.

Ward aint showed that yet, he aint left his comfort zone (in the pro game).

Dont compare the two, Mayweather slowed his opponent down boxing of the backfoot and controlling range.

Dirrell didnt want to engage and stand his ground.

Dirrell showed that he can hurt Froch, and he could have done alot better if he just committed himself and fight alot closer to Froch instead of being too far away.

Froch wanted to fight, Dirrell didnt. There was little chance Froch was going to win boxing against a faster Dirrell and I think he did the right thing by bullying the faster younger more atheletically gifted fighter in Dirrell.

Dirrell didnt fight like the challenger, he didnt fight like he wanted to Take the belt. He comes over to the champs backyard, he is expected to snatch the title off Froch but he didnt do that he went for a points decision.

Hagler came over to Minters backyard and took the title off him, Dirrell came over and ran hugged and was on his knees alot in the fight.

Because I think Dirrell fought like a scared man

Get Dirrells dick outta your mouth boy.

Yep its clear you get a boner over Froch needing a last second KO to beat a guy who struggled with Corey spinks.
Yes we've established that you think being a boxer and a counter puncher equates to being scared. We've established that you dont know **** about boxing. :good
The Super Six dictated he be the visitor on occassion. Again the only fighter to benefit from a gift in this tournament is Froch. Every other fighter won fair and square. Get off his nuts *****. :rofl
So Mayweather is controlling range, and Dirrell is just not engaging.
Too far away this clown says. :rofl
So basically because Froch was getting dominated in a boxing match you think its ok that he deliberately began slamming and rabbit punching Dirrell around the ring.

I think that says it all and how nobody should take your opinion seriously.
He hurt Froch, landed more punches, made him look like a fool, and his best most dominate rounds were the championship rounds where even Bernstein compared round 11 to a brawl that Dirrell won.

    You're a joke.
He went for a points decision in a boxing match? You dont say.:lol::lol:

I think im gonna sig that quote of yours lol.

Quit watching boxing if you like Dirrell. I have never seen a 'boxer' that has ran as much as him.

I mean he literally turned his back and ran or if he couldn't run he would hug and put his arms around Froch or he would bend so low to suck Froch's dick.

He was never there to fight but run, hug, run some more.

Don't be a boxer if you are yellow. No one likes a coward in the ring. He was pissing his pants and did not look surprise to lose either. His whole game plan was to survive in the ring. Urgh. People like him should not be allowed to box.

Don't even compare him to Mayweather. Not even close.
