Ward has far too many tools for an essentially one-handed fighter in Hill. Ward's jab is probably better even.
Ward may go on to be very good, but as of now people are foolish to compare Ward to a legend like V Hill who did so much and had so many title wins as well as being a LHW, Ward might not be able to fight at that well at LHW
It's difficult to call right now, as we don't really know at this point how good Ward will turn out to be, as well as how he would handle 175. Based on his career so far, he looks a level above Hill, who was a good but never outstanding fighter. Hill beating Foster's record is one of the best examples of why numbers alone shouldn't define a fighter's career, and he wasn't in the same league as Foster, Spinks, Charles, Moore etc. Hill generally came up short against the elite fighters he faced, and if he is as good as he has looked recently you'd expect that to happen against Ward as well.
It's impossible to say until Ward has a fight at 175.Skills and ability it has to be Ward, but we don't know yet if his lack of KO power may travel badly to LHW. Just a bit early in the day to answer definitively.
