This. Roy said that making the weight for the first Tarver fight was the hardest thing he ever had to do. It was stupid of Roy to even do that. When you are used to being Superman, you think you can do anything. That move alone made Roy a past-his-prime fighter, period.

Tell that to Chris Byrd who dropped weight, lost his legs, and got shattered. Although maybe he fed off "soft" punchers at HW

He was losing MUSCLE weight...not Fat. You can't lose muscle weight that fast and especially at that age without it possibly messing up your body's equilibrium..which it did. There is a HUGE difference between taking off fat as opposed to muscle.

You deprive your body of key nutrients, diet down, and over-train your body to take off MUSCLE weight and you will screw up your body. Your hormones can get thrown off track. And your stress hormone can as well. Go study up on negative effects on the body through diet and exerciser...specifically when you are depriving your body of key nutrients and over-training the body...both of which Roy was admitting he was doing during interviews leading up to Tarver 1. And at that age when your body is already in decline and susceptible to decline...it's not good.

It puts your body in an unhealthy state. If you are not strong, you will not have the strength to take a shot. Some recover with time and others don't. It just depends on what happens during that time in recovery. And for Jones, he was in a grueling fight with Tarver in the first match and then got drilled in the second. And then kept going downhill.

If its Glass, any fighter with decent power that lands will knock you out. And Toney landed a bomb in one of the rounds and Jones didn't even blink.

jones by comfortable decision...perhaps even a late stoppage.

Jones had one shot KO power at that weight

    :patsch:patsch

This is so factually untrue it's hilarious. Listen, look at me, I know what it's like to drop 25lbs and lose muscle mass along the way but maintain performance, it doesn't do **** all to your jaw. The Key nutrients are still absorbed when you diet(especially as he was on roids), you aren't going out like a corpse ffs.:patsch He is stripping water and fat, his muscle would be more prominent at LHW as the **** was out of his system, he just had a **** jaw and always did, accept it. You can look bulky and fairly ripped and still have **** bodyfat percentage which is what Rjj had.

Rjj had one of the worst chins in history, but he would decimate Ward.

What FAT did Jones have to strip from HW down to LH?

This wasn't some fighter who had a layoff, got fat, and stripped fat off. This was Muscle weight he put on and had to lose.

Key nutrients are absorbed but if you are on a very strict diet, which Roy said he was on, then you are not getting enough nutrients to replenish your system. Jones said himself he was struggling to take off the weight and was putting in extra miles to do it.

The Endocrine system is delicate when you diet and train...especially when it leads to over-training and especially for a Man in his 30's.

If you are drained, so is the rest of you. You need strength to be able to withstand impact.
If you have pneumonia, do you think you will be able to take the same punch?

Roy looked like a ghost when he was in there with Tarver. His legs looked awful. Legs are key in seeing how strong an athlete is. Athletes tend to note this key difference in their decline.

Again, what happened to Chris Byrd's chin?

Interesting how they mention Roy at the start...and guess what happened to Byrd?
