Andre Ward vs. Sullivan Barrera RBR

Forgot about him when I typed that. You may be correct. It's a fight I'd watch.

I wouldn't put him in the top 10. Kovalev, Ward, Stevenson, Hopkins, Beterbiev, Fonfara, Chilemba, Shabransky, Alvarez, Braehmer, Cleverly, Gonzalez etc. Barrera may be better than Pascal though, after that beating that Kovalev gave him not too long ago.

 

That's about right.

 

Meh, he has somewhat of a chance of being top 10, but it's very slim. I think 11-15 is a lot more right than 10-15. I say barely top 10 because he was a solid fighter but nothing more.

We'd be hammering Kovalev if he fought Barrera, let's just put it that way. Not a bad fight for someone fighting at the full LHW limit for the first time, though.

Too bad Beterbiev got injured or Ward would've had to go through Beterbiev first. Beterbiev was discussed as an opponent for Barrera in an IBF title eliminator fight.

 

I'd rather have seen Kovalev fight Barrera than Pascal again. There's a difference between a rising 10-15 fighter and a washed up one.
