I don't think quite realise just how much hate he got for that. There's nothing today which would happen to him which would match being disowned by an entire country.
I can’t imagine being a boxing fan and not loving to watch both of these guys fight. I don’t think their styles will lend itself to being an exciting or explosive fight, but it would still be ultra competitive. I think this would be very close either way... Ward SD 12 Galindez SD 15
Andre Ward was a very polished fighter with good movement, and quick hands. Victor Galindez was a bullish type counterpuncher who could catch his opponents coming off the ropes. Ward would have to keep the fight at ring center to avoid a firefight with Victor, Victor would have to get on the inside to wear down Andre and pound the body. Both have fought quality opposition. Galimdez has fought the likes of Alvaro Yaqui Lopez, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Richie Kates, Len Hutchins, Jorge Ahumada, and Mike Rossman . Ward's biggest win was over Sergey Kovolov to win the title. Very tough fight to score, Galindez does have brittle scar tissue over the eyebrows, which cost him the title against Rossman. This fight goes back and forth, Andre's speed troubles Victor, who suffers a laceration above the right eye. But Galindez after complaining to the referee, charges forward to wear Andre down in the championship rounds to score a very narrow decision. depends where they fight as Victor usually liked to fight in Italy.
