Andre Ward was excellent last night.

He might be right. Golovkin needs better head movement, but his footwork, spacing and timing are excellent.

I thought Andre did a great job. He's really getting the hang of commentating imo. Hopefully we can see more from the guy.

Who gives a ****, not everyone is George Foreman or Roy Jones. And Roy is probably the best boxing commentator you will ever get.

He did well. Think he might be better as an in-studio type since he has all the personality of a goldfish, doesn't really lend itself to calling it live.

I think Ward is good. He has what it takes to do it and do it well. Sure there are guys like Antonio Tarver and Roy Jones who just have the charisma but then you have someone like Ward who has that Bernard Hopkins type of intricate knowledge.

I think he was terrible and this is why. Yes he is mega intelligent and he makes lots of great points as a professional boxer is expected to do. But he was riding the heck out of the fighters who were in the "drivers seat" for the entire fight. This was seen most by the 1st fight on the card and the 3rd fight on the card. Yes I know its wonderful to explain the domination done by the fighter in control. He failed to mention any instances in which Martinez/Salido had which were semi successful. This is why I'd still prefer Roy Jones Jr than Ward any day. I prefer guys who will not be biased in that sense. Ward got over infatuated with the aspects of the winning fighter and thats about 90% of everything he mentioned on the card. He'd never even mention a punch land by the fighter who was drastically behind on the cards. Guys like Roy Jones do the opposite of that by saying things like "Ohh nice right hand there by Martinez/Salido" - as a cheesy example.

He was dead on with everything he called, but as I just said 50 different ways, I think he was way to polarized with his statements. He sounded like he was a trainer out of the corner representing the fighter who was in control.

He did well.. he is still growing into commentating.. his insight is up there with the George Formans and Roy Jones... Hould afford to relax a lil bit more and open up.. he was very conservative.. even about the complements he was getting from the other commentaors... Moving forward he will get better.. no doubt..

    No.

While GGG does have very good footwork, spacing and timing, so did Chavez Sr, plus excellent head/upper body movement which GGG doesn't have.

So no, he wasn't anywhere close to being "right" with that statement.
