I'm talking about facts. Fact is Andre Ward was scared to fight Bute, who was offered a chance to fight Calzaghe but he was to scared of taking it. So if Ward was scared to fight a guy who was scared to fight Calzaghe how could anyone beside fanboys imagine Ward would have had the ***** to go up in the ring with Joe? It's good thing Joe retired, Ward can now feast on Rodrigues and Smiths of the 172 division and claim greatness without having to worry Joe is right behind the corner
A green Ward beat Slappy Joe's best opponent in Kessler in his first title fight. I doubt he'd be scared of Slappy Joe.
Actually Froch was offered the fight with Joe twice and never took it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/6565651.stm :hi:
I don't know which is more laughable, linking a BBC article or the fact you think the words of Mick Hennessey are legitimate Calzaghe was famous for ducking young hungry guys, Froch and Ward was just two of those guys :good
I was shocked by how effective Hopkins was against Joe through the first 3/4 of the fight. Joe managed a comeback over the last few rounds, which won him the fight, but I got the impression it was more taking advantage of Hopkins age than anything. It's a weakness he couldn't exploit against Ward. So I see the 7-5 Joe against Hopkins translating to an 8-4 for Ward
