:goodI was reading tru this thread looking for good analysis why he think Ward will beat Kessler... until i saw your post here! If he really wrote this, guess there is no reason to look any further for answers on this thread.. What a fool lol
Just like Juan Diaz would knock Marquez out.. yeah? Remember that thread you made? Your threads are shite mate.
Why does he have a glass chin?, has he ever been knocked out? He was knocked down and that's not good enough proof he has a glass chin. People thought Miranda would ice him as soon as he lands yet didn't so this glass chin stuff is bull****. Ali, Leonard, Foreman, Tyson, Hagler, Pacquiao, Robinson, LaMotta and MANY other greats were ALL knocked down early or mid in their careers. That means all those guys have glass chins? People are too quick to judge a fighter's punch resistance for some reason.
It's a damn interesting fight. Kessler is favourite for a reason, but I wouldn't be majorly shocked to see Ward eek out a narrow decision.
Zero?! He's had more than 40 fights, and he's still pretty as a girl. Actually, Calzaghe is the only fighter who made Kessler look like he'd been into a fight.
I'm liking Ward chances also...Kessler as of latley has been getting overrated by his fans...Ward is the better skilled fighter IMO...Yes, Ward might lack the experience, but he will make up for it with his skills...He will out point Kessler in a hard fought fight!:good
Has Ward's chin been properly tested yet? You are not getting past Kessler without a solid beard, because he will eventually hit you with something big, and Kessler has a lot of power in those hands. Look at the uppercuts that Calzaghe took, most fighters would have been out cold..
Im expecting an awesome fight...both fighters wants to prove their worth badly and it will be a test of willpower and heart. I read an interview where Kessler said he felt Ward was a very underrated fighter and he did not like the fact of facing him in his backyard. So Kessler knows hes good ...what many here doesn´t seem to think. Ward has the faster hands and is a better technical fighter...no doubt about that. But how good is his chin ? and how good is his stamina ? Ward only went 12 rounds 2 times in his entire career. How well can he manage his stamina over 12 rounds against Kessler who will put heavy pressure on him cause he is not a one-dimensional fighter like Miranda. If Ward can withstand Kessler`s power I think he wins a 12 round UD
Ward and Dirrell to me are the dark horse fighters. Not much experience or exposure. They have the ability to shock. I like Kessler and to me he is the best. But what does anybody know about Ward, alot of unseen potential. I think Kessler wins but Ward will make it interesting.
Taken from my thread Here is a thorough analysis of how this fight plays out, utilising past fights from Kessler as an example. The idea that Ward has this remarkable handspeed is frail. He hasn't been in a fighter who is able to counter punch as well as Kessler can. Kessler made Calzaghe fight a completely different gameplan off the fact that if you try to throw punches in bunches against Kessler, he is very good at creating enough distance to slip in either the right cross, the right uppercut or a very stiff series of jabs. This made Calzaghe change his gameplan and effectively engage in an outside jabbing contest with Kessler which most people are too ineffective at analysis to see. Calzaghe going into Round 4 knew he would be in trouble if he kept attempting to land in combination and rely on handspeed - because one thing above all else beats handspeed - Timing. Kessler has impeccable timing. Ward does not have the game that Calzaghe does to realise this, adapt mid fight and then beat Kessler at a game few people thought before hand he would - jabbing from the outside. Therefore, this fight comes down to a simple formulae. Can Ward's handspeed and combination punching beat Mikkel's defensive work, timing and impeccable technique. The simple answer is an 85% No, with a 10% "Maybe for a few rounds, but can he do it late" and a 5% "For the whole fight" If the Calzaghe fight was not enough to show you why Kessler will beat Ward, go back in time to a much better fighter than what Ward is and better physical tools than Ward has, in Anthony Mundine - who Kessler dismantled by, what the class says? Timing. The few difficulties he had with Mundine will be ironed out these days. This is coming from a guy who gave Kessler no chance at Joe and one of the few guys who predicted Joe would land more jabs than Kessler before the fight. Ward's only hope is somehow KO'ing Kessler. This is about as likely as Wladimir Klitschko being KO'ed by De La Hoya.
I think you compare Mundine and Ward too much just coz they both have good handspeed and tries angles and some obvious similarities. Mikkel certainly had his hands full with Mundine, and Mundine is no olympic gold-medalist. Kessler has improved alot since the Mundine fight, and he also claimed he was only on 70% in that bout because of a back injurie. Overall I think Ward is alot better than Mundine.
