Christo's posts on this subject are the BEST!!! He is now in the witness protection program. Anybody heard from Christo since last Saturday?
There are dozens of these old threads from before this fight. Anybody can be wrong, especially in something so unpredictable as boxing. But DAMN, how wrong can so many people be? The majority of these geniuses had Kessler knocking out Ward within 8 or 10. OOPS!
Boxing is hard to predict. If I don't have a real feel for a fight then I don't make a prediction. I also imagine I'm betting my own money. That helps clear the cobwebs. I was asking myself before the fight - how does Ward stack up against Andrade and Mundine. It seemed impossible to answer then but I imagine he would be the betting favorite now. Some of the posts on this thread are pretty funny. Pugilisticpowers long post, especialy the part about Wards needing a KO to win is particulalrly funny in hindsight. Ward practically pitched a shutout.
I don't know about the TS being usually right. He's right sometimes, but maybe even less than 50%. I still remember he picked Alfonso Gomez to stop Cotto.
philla I want you to produce the numbers and concrete proof ... because i'm sure that i'm above 50% and am atleast 85% on big fights. I usually always pick the winner but when it comes to how it will get done remains to be seen. I would like to see you prove yourself in proving me wrong.
I would've been right had Pavlik not ducked Williams ... (even though, i'm sure it had more to do with Pavlik making weight than actually not wanting to fight williams)
Philla you're still holding on to that Alfonso Gomez prediction ... who cares ... it just foreshadow'd what i've always thought about Cotto ... he wasn't great - never was great, he never stepped up in his biggest fights ... and he was always suspect in my opinion.
I started a thread about a month ago urging all the self-proclaimed geniuses here to pick the winners of 9 upcoming fights to see who really knows what about boxing here. Where were you?
