Andre Ward will now be the biggest thing in Oakland now that the Raiders left.

I really don't see anything young Floyd does that resembles RJJ.
Like Toney he uses the shoulder roll but other than that I don't really see any other similarities.
Although Floyd was more aggressive at the lighter weights, he was still a hit-and-not-get-hit boxer and I think its a bit of a myth that he was this all out offensive warrior.

Yeah he wasnot an offensive warrior at all but the handspeed plus decent power down at 130 and the fact that he led with power shots reminded me of RJJ

Fair enough. I kind of put words in your mouth with the "offensive warrior" comment.

I suppose he does remind me of Roy with his penchant for cherry picking.

space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement

Have you ever dreamed of going up to outer space?
Or maybe meeting other beings from another place
have you ever wondered what it's like on other planets?
Then you watch a science show and come to believe you understand it
you feel empowered by the knowledge and you feel enlightened
listening to Bill Nye and Neil degrasse Tyson
but then you wake up and you start to see the obvious
life is just a lie and this whole world ain't what we thought it was
NASA's missions to the moon – were never completed
they just filmed 'em in a room – and people believe it
I use to wonder what it's like to be an astronaut
Now when I see 'em acting I can't help but to laugh a lot
They give us cartoons and claim that we live on a ball
But it's flat and it's not moving or spinning at all
Why you lying to us, man that's something that we wanna know
After that, you're gonna have to pack up all your stuff and go

Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement

History has been rewritten by winners of wars
the Jesuit order, Khazars, Freemasons and more
They pulled the veil over our eyes and it's time to awaken
Through organized indoctrination our minds have been taken
It's time we take our power back and we rescue our people
The Vatican and the bankers are like resident evil
They may have had the greatest plan that was ever concocted
But Illuminati never thought that they'd ever be spotted
they're manufacturing reality all in our heads
they tell you if the earth is flat then you'll fall off the edge
But if it is a spinning ball, you won't fall off it then
and gravity is your imaginary magical friend
why is water always flat when unmanipulated?
Why are pictures of the earth computer generated?
Why you lying to us, man that's something that we wanna know
After that, you're gonna have to pack up all your stuff and go

Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement

Dear NASA, It's becoming one hundred percent crystal clear that you and the other space programs that are in operation are connected and are deceiving the entire world. More and more people are waking up every single day and we are now able to see right through you, but what we really want to know is: Why are you lying?

    Sincerely,
Me and the great people of this earth

Space may be the final frontier, but it's made in a Hollywood basement

Sure, but Roy did like a soft touch now & then. He suddenly took on all comers after Tarver, pity he didn't have quite the same attitude when he truly was 'superman' - I would have loved a Toney rematch.

I thought of another Roy/Floyd similarity - they both got screwed at the olympics.
Also, both have contemptuous relationships with their respective namesake Snr's.

Well both their dads were fighters so they learned from their mistakes and managed their own careers more carefully, because im sure their dad's told them "i shouldnt have taken this or that fight"

I didn't know Roy Snr was a pro? Or did you mean he was a fighter as an amateur?

Last I checked, going 26-0 in world title fights (Most in history), 24-0 against former world champions, 12 time world champion, 49-0, beat all of his boxing contemporaries doesn't constitute as cherry picking LMFAO.

If Floyd is cherry picking, Manny Pacquiao must be fighting bums his entire career. Floyd's career > Manny's, not even close.

An American gold medal winner who sells less PPV's in America than a guy from Kazakhstan, that's right Kazakhstan is the big thing in Oakland.:risas3:

I read an article about a year ago that implied the Roy Jones who fought Hagler wasn't Roy's father at all but another Roy Jones completely unrelated, the article also said that Roy Sr was prone to telling people it was him and he had been a pro but in reality he only boxed while in the military or something like that. Who knows though, maybe the article was wrong and it actually was Roy Sr. How did you come to know about it? I would be interested to know what the truth really is.

Heard it in commentary of one of Roy's fights. Marvin Hagler also said he whipped Roy's dad
Either way roy's resumee is badly underrated because of the ease with which he dispatched those guys
