Mark my words, Froch's stamina, resilience and heart will give ward his toughest fight yet. Ward will win as much as I dont want him too, he's too talented. Froch will DEFINETELY give him his toughest fight yet though, or at least as tough a fight as Bika gave him. Bika definetely gave him problems.

Froch v Ward is really a fight too look forward too. From a neutral point of view I expect Ward will be too clever for Froch and win a UD. However, it won't be an easy fight for Ward and given the occasion and given the stakes.. Froch we know will fight to the closing bell.

As a neutral, I prefer Froch to watch than Ward. Ward is clever but lacks that excitement and is fact quite boring.

The views expressed in this thread are largely fanboism, fact is this is far from a foregone conclusion. It seems today boxing fans demand their champions never lose, utterly dominate their opponents, always win with flare and style. If they don't do that then they slide down in public estimation. This is professional boxing folks, all of them are good at what they do and it only takes a few good punches to turn a fight on a dime. Is Froch's chin too good for Ward? No, anyone can be knocked out by someone else at a weight. Is Ward too slick, too defensive to get caught? No.

    Roll on the fight.

Does anyone not see the similarities with these comments coming from UK folks here to those comments made prior to the Mayweather v Hatton fight: PBF got no power; Hatton will walk through Mayweather's feather fisted punches and K.O him, etc, etc. Brits, do you remember the conclusion of that fight? I sure do:yep

Seen any good 42 year old footballers recently?

Seen any good 38 year old footballers recently?

    How about 35?

Being 30 is bad news for athletes. Being 40 is terrible news. In very rare cases, some boxers can hang on awhile because they have experience, but don't tell me a 42 year old boxer is in his "prime".

Quick, name all the passable 40+ boxers? It's easy, because there's only a handful! Sugar Ray Leonard was 35 when he was dominated by Terry Norris. He was 42 (Glen Johnson's age) when he was KOed by Camacho.

Watch Hopkins when he was 32, he was unrecognizably different. He was, for one, athletic and threw lots of punches and knocked people out.

Dude your getting up Ward's arse too much. Froch has NEVER been properly hurt, not matter where he has been hit, and I cant think of anyone in the sport today who has a better recovery rate (bar JMM). You could hit the guy in the dick and he probably wont even flinch.

and whats so special about Ward's body work anyway? its not that great, how many people has he stopped with it? not many.

Froch will win this. (as long as it isnt in Oakland).

Hatton is not to be discussed. Shush!

All their love was placed in one man, Joe Calzaghe, the greatest fighter in the history of the world, beater of prime 40 year-old Roy Jones Jr. (he, who aged like fine wine, he of the lightning quick reflexes and otherworldy speed was no match for Joe!) and prime 43 year old Bernard Hopkins!!

Ward couldn't even stop 2 school kid fighting, let alone stop Froch who has, pound for pound, the hardest chin in boxing.

well considering Wlad is going to KO Haye, then no Im not. Why are you bringing in where im from anyway? you assume im from the UK because I have Lennox in my pic?

its sad how nowadays a person's origin has to be brought into a debate.

You don't have to hit the chin to stop another fight, ever heard of a liver shot? Ward is cooking up one onto Froch this fall.:yep...you know the same one Brit folks were having a carnival over which Hatton put on JLC.

Perhaps if you knew a bit more about the game of boxing you'd understand that some styles age better than others. Furthermore some fighters are able to adapt their gameplan with age and experience to remain at least as effective post 40 as they were before.

Hopkins and Johnson are examples. Hopkins was a different fighter at 32 to now. Was he better at 30 than at 40? No.

Comparison to footballers does not work. They have to perform twice a week, a top boxer must perform twice a year or so. With that time between performances a boxer can work round the longer recovery periods that age brings.

I think you are confusing power shots with elbows and head butts.
