im favouring ward in this fight, i think that he will win, but im not confident at all id call it a 55-45 fight either way, i wouldn't be suprised in the least if he got beat from pillar to post and retired

Ward gets hit enough, in average approx. 105 times in a fight. Froch connected 156 times, Barrera 111 times, and neither is as skillful as Kovalev. That is more than enough for Kovalev if he hits as hard as they say.

I have to agree, im not the worlds greatest fan of Ward and will be rooting for Kovalev, but Ward knows how to break down fighters and win dirty if needs be...Kovalev on the other hand looks very limited in his style!!

Don't get me wrong... all results are possible in this fight (apart from Ward knocking out Kovalev), but gun to my head I'd back Ward: always back a boxer against a puncher - although I can see Krusher is more than a heavy-handed knockout merchant. I just think Ward has the skills and ring IQ to neutralise any opponent. But guess what? Some people disagree. Great thing is, they're gonna fight, so in three weeks we'll know. What gets me though, is that some here are pinning everything on their guy winning. If Krusher finds a way to win, he'll gain a fan in me and Ward won't go down in my estimation. Boxing doesn't need to be tribal but some people seem to need that edge.

I post on this forum about once every 10 days, and from that I've gathered your opinion on boxing is very very low level, and you have at best average boxing eyes. You should start re-reading your posts to yourself before hitting 'post reply'

Seems like literally nobody has said that in this thread.

Kovalev is a boxer-puncher, and Ward is a master boxer, there is a massive difference. Most of you posters are disrespecting Ward, because he's American and beat Kessler/Prime Froch. But if you keep it real with yourself, Kov beating an old hopkins is a decent win, nothing more. If you actually break down boxing, you'd know Ward has all the advantages except power. But, Ward's defense is far too good to be hit by Kov flush more than once, if that.

You can dick ride Kov if you want, but he's facing a man who is more than capable of beating him. I still pick Kov to beat Ward, but you guys talking about people sleeping on Kov when it seems that you're not giving Ward and you're really sleeping on Ward. This wouldn't be a fight if Ward had a right hand, but that lack of right hand is why i pick Kov. Two fists are always better than one. Against the very best one armed power punchers never beat two fisted punchers. Haven't seen it yet. Not between top tier fighters.

I'm tipping Kov by SD, as Ward is too crafty to get knocked out and will still do enough to avoid a UD. However Ward though rusty and not as mobile has he was , is still Ward a master craftsman and will force Kov to beat him and not just let it happen. Anyone that just writes off Ward doesn't know Ward.

If Ward starts the head butting & dirty stuff he was known for he'll regret it . Sergey can get down & dirty too. Only problem there is a Ward biased offiicall would DQ Kovalev
