exactly he may be boring as hell, but some of the names he has on his resume should shut the haters up not everyone can say they beat Adamek, Johnson and Tarver (2x each), or Hopkins
Ward was waiting for the results of Bute vs Froch. Ward said, Bute hasnt fought the quality of fighters that Froch, Kessler, and him fought... these guys had been doing nothing but fighting the best of the best for years in a tournament that Bute shouldve joined, but declined. So here is Ward, beating the best of the best, the only on to leave the tourny with a unblemished record... and having this guy being mentioned, as if he is number 2 or even 1 in division and he hasnt proven it like Ward has. So Ward said, lets see Bute in there with a fighter who is A level. Froch being the G he is, after being dominated and busted up by Ward, said ill fight you bute. If Bute was the real number 1 or 2, he had his chance to prove it against the man, who at the time, was the number 3 in the division, behind the men who beat him. This was his chance. Had he sparked Froch, or beat him decisively, which is what you expect for someone who was supposedly the real number 1 SMW.... but that was not how the cards were dealt that day. it was not even competitive, Froch treated him like a little child... it was like a big brother of adult age just running through his prepubescent brother and just showing him how its a whole other ballpark when you are in with the best of the best. So... in short... Bute had his chance... he failed the test, badly. so move along.
You just can't know if it's true that Ward was waiting. Anyone who ducks a tough opponent can say that he was waiting for him to become more famous and then have a superfight. Of course, most fighters eventually lose, and so there's the excuse for the superfight not happening. It's too easy to duck opponents in this sport.
Dawson got kayoed by a monstrous puncher. Bute got kayoed by a guy who hadn't scored a stoppage win over any notable SMW opponent.
