I agree with Hunter who had the fight a draw. I read Danish; the quotes from Hunter & Ward are accurate as translated. Though I had the fight as a draw myself, I knew Froch would get the nod because of the hometown advantage - and, really, a point or two either way isn't worth complaining about. That said, I don't think this fight had a clear winner and there should definitely be a rubbermatch.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/may/26/carl-froch-mikkel-kessler-world-title-fight Kevin Mitchell of the Guardian had it a draw as well.
It must be quite hard for Ward he won the super 6 and is deemed to be the far better fighter but it seems Froch gained more in terms of fan support from the super 6 than Ward did. It was not that long ago that Froch was seen as lacking drawing power compared to Calzaghe. I never thought Froch could draw 18,000 fans to one of his fights but it seems the fans have begun to embrace him like so many British fighters before him.
Watched the fight with HBO commentary and Ward was impressed with Kessler throughout the fight but he also felt that he didn't do enough to win the fight going into the late rounds. Maybe he changed his mind but seem to remember him agreeing Kessler needed knock downs to win the fight.
