Dirrell deserves **** all, the biggest coward in the squared circle than we've seen in a long, long time! Froch is at his best and might just beat Ward, don't be so sure of Ward here!
Andre Ward is the most boring fighter of the last 60 years he is stuck between 2 divisions where there is nobody worth a **** to fight. So **** his career it's going nowhere else now. And nobody gives a **** about watching this guy put on a borefest against **** opponents in a **** division.
It's true though. He's boring to watch and there's not many big fights out there for him. He's in a difficult position.
Well when Ward fought Froch money wise it was hardly a big fight. Ward got 900k and Froch 600k. Andre Berto used to get similar to what they both got fighting over matched opposition.
I think Ward was worried by Bute, he couldn't decide if he was the real deal or not. Froch was on his knees after the Ward loss so had to take the Bute fight (especially at his age). He destroyed Bute and the rest is history. Had Ward had the balls to fight Bute and beat him (which he obviously would of done) he'd of been a complete superstar. The Kessler rematch and Dawson fight would of still been there, but they'd of been even bigger. Long story short; Ward definitely regrets not taking on Bute. Froch took the attention and money that Ward could have easily had.
Slightly different situation though. HBO invested in Berto with the hope they'd make that back when he fought Floyd, but Ortiz saw to that good and proper.
He's not an action fighter, but other than the Green fight I really like watching him work. It's a shame that fighters who don't get into slugging matches get over-looked sometimes.
Yeah but what are they going to throw millions at him for? There's no super fight to build him into to. Kessler rematch is the biggest fight for him really but that's not exactly some world stopping fight. He's probably too good for his own good, it sounds stupid but it's true.
If he is headlining a bill he should be easily making at least what he made against Froch if not more.
Berto is a Haymon fighter, who could secure someone a $1m+ purse from HBO for fighting a hot dog stand worker. Everyone else based in the US, Pacquiao aside, plays by different rules in respect of their earnings.
Khan was at least facing decent fighters... plus he's got income from two sources either side of the pond.
