Whatever, Ward beat Kessler fair and square. Kessler doesn't know how to adjust especially when Ward switches to southpaw and has bad head movement. It's Kessler's fault that he sucked against Andre Ward.

I would sooner believe you were Mikkel Kessler than you were rooting for Ward.

Good way to divert attention from the fact that Kessler got schooled. NOT. This has been the weakest, most immature, most pathetic line of excuse making seen on boxing forums in years. What's worse; it has NOTHING to do with the outcome of that fight WHATSOEVER. People complaining about Cotto hitting Judah intentionally low is one thing. This crap is just laughable, stupid, and lame.

Call me chump all you want want, but your favorite fighter in the world is limited. Ward is his medicine. Again, they fight 10 times he will whoop that ass 10 times. you don't even see Kessler complaining. The guy was happy with the stoppage, he did not want to be in there anymore. You fans just like controversy. Ward showed everyone that he was the best fighter, not just that night, but everyday day of the week. He is a better boxer than Kessler in every aspect. And I can appreciated boxing. I am not saying that Kessler sux or anything. Ward just proved that he is better. And you should just look at that fight again and realized that Kessler just had no answer.

an undefeated gold medalist, yeah they get that far in life by dirty tactics. kessler is supposed to be " a Viking warrior" and had over 40 plus fights....i guess if he would have manned up a while back and fought some decent fighters instead of the jokes he fought 95% of his career...he may have had an answer for the ass kicking he got

It's a fight for christ sakes if Kessler felt he was being headbutted intentionally he should've punched Ward in the nuts!!! anyways he can still do well in this tourney and possibly meet Ward again to avenge his loss, lets move forward...

I don't get how 1) negates 2) or makes it ok.

If anything it makes it worse. I can sort of understand a boxer using his head a little - if he needs to. Using his head when he clearly doesn't need to? Yeah, that is the sort of thing that should cause people to lose just a bit of respect for a fighter.

 

Ward threw nine head butts in that fight along with numerous low blows, and hitting on the break. The man came to the ring wearing a robe that said "Jesus is Lord" on the back and then cheated enough to make Mustafa Hamsho look like a boy scout. Ward is a disgrace to boxing, a disgrace to his church, and a disgrace to people of color.

 

I haven't lost any respect for the guy, I just hate his fighting style. Very ugly fighter to watch. His recent fights have bored me quite frankly.

 

Lets get one thing straight, the main reason why Kessler's face was such a bloody mess after the fight was as a result of the headbutts, especially the 2 cuts to his eyes, the second of which caused the fight to be stopped.

No doubt about it Ward won the fight, but his style BORES ME TO TEARS. The guy came into the Kessler fight thinking he was on "Dancing with the Stars". Haven't seen so much holding in a fight since Hopkins-Calzaghe. Can you image Dirrell-Ward?? Talk about a total snooozzzeeee fest.

The guy may be win the tournament, but I sure ain't in a hurry to see him again soon.

 

Serioulsy, the guys saying this, just like the dork in the press conference, have NO sense of PROPORTION! When was the last time you saw one fighter totally cut up from clashes of heads alone. Oh, wait, Tyson-Holyfield, never mind that one.

The fact is that Ward was CLEARLY to blame for the butts. In soccer if someone plays recklessly, he gets warned or sent off. And even Showtimes own commantators though the butts were "definitely not UNintentional".
