I don't know who those guys are, but I'm fairly certain I saw him doing an interview with Lampley before Kovalev fought? Didn't I? Or is my brain fried? :smoke
Ward is a self-important idiot. He really think he is some star or something, when he's becoming less and less relevant by the day. He's an insecure control freak. That's why the fight is not getting made. If I see Ward in the Bay Area, I wouldn't even approach him. He'll preempt me and ask me for money because he'll think I want his signature or something. Roc Nation probably wish they never signed him.
Yes he was on TV with Lampley for less than a minute. He said he had not got the contract to sign. But first Lampley said to him we hear you are fighting in March against so and so. And Ward answers Lampley by saying "oh you heard that too"? I mean WTF? Andre do you know what your are or arnt doing? He talks about everything in some weird passive manner. It could be some mental or maybe a confidence thing. Remember Ward is a family man has 4 kids. I mean do you really want to see their dad knocked out?
So im a troll because you idiots are comparing Ward Barrera to Floyd Pac. These 2 have no correlation with eachother and both Floyd and Pac were and are on a different stratosphere both in terms of fans bases accomplishment and most importantly financially. Yet this is a similar situationatsch
I would be surprised if Barrera knocked Ward out, and while I wouldn't rule it out, I don't think it's very likely. :smoke
Roc Nation was desperate to get fighters. Wilder, Thurman and Broner and many others all turned down Roc Nation offers. Uncle Al advised them to stay away and greased them all with a 1/4 million dollars!
I meant Kovalev. Does anybody want to subject his wife and 4 kids to seeing daddy get hammered to sleep by a big Russian? Its not good. Ask Jinkee Pacquiao and the family how it feels watching the man of the house put to sleep on his face for 4 minutes!
Here is the interview from the Kovalev fight. He think it's done, but he hasn't seen the paperwork yet. It seems like he may have seen the paperwork and didn't like what's on it. https://streamable.com/p3w5 He probably wants 3 judges from Oakland and Jack Reiss, otherwise he won't sign.
I can't believe he hasn't confirmed an opponent yet. It's the same scenario has last November. I had hoped he has learned from the mistakes of last year but clearly Ward and Roc Nation seem unable to do this. Ward now doesn't have many options. Either he drags a journeymen in at the last minute, sc.raps the March 26th date and delay his return once again or give into Barrera's financial demands. With 7 weeks to go no other fighter has enough time to have a full training camp he's basically stuck with Barrera. It was naive to only have Barrera as an option with the fight approaching should have looked at other options weeks ago when it became clear that Barrera was holding out.
:yep It's a bad look for Ward and RN, and in terms of the latter, it's also beginning to seem as if they're either incompetent or grossly inexperienced. I'm just hoping that Hopkins wasn't/isn't their plan B, and that Ward doesn't wind up being Hopkins mystery opponent. :smoke
If he fights Hopkins it would be a fixed. They would touch each other for 12 rounds and then collect a check and go to that bank.
I heard Ward has an issue with the contract he signed last year with HBO and Main Events. Ward wants to fight 3 times in 2016, the problem is after June Ward needs to have a scheduled fight against Kovalev. This conflicts with Ward's schedule because if Ward were to beat Barrera and fight again before Kovalev, it would be early as July. I'm assuming Ward wants to renegotiate with HBO and Main Events and extend the deadline to at least July. This wouldn't be an issue had Ward found a decent opponent to fight in the Cotto-Canelo under-card, instead he chose an opponent that was so bad I'm assuming he faked his injury. Ward is being terribly mismanaged.
I hope this isn't true, I don't think ward can be looking to make any demands to hbo, he is lucky they gave him that deal
