If he beats Dawson @175, #4 right behind Pacquiao.

What weight-class is this taking place?
    I haven't been following.

I hope its at LH or forget it.

It's easier for a fighter to move up one division than expect a seasoned fighter to come down in weight because in moving up, you have the "option" to adding while in moving down, you are only taking away.

All indications are that it's at 168, which is why I'm not exactly about to lavish Ward with praise in this hypothetical.

No 4. Who beat Ward??? - Froch who was beaten by Kessler and Kessler who was beaten by Calzaghe. Abraham who was beaten by Froch??? No undefeated top fighter. If Ward beat Dawson very clear and afterward could beat an undefeated Bute, then yes, he could be ranked no 3. He need to beat an undefeated top fighter first.

The ring has Andre Ward as Nr.5 .. I think he should be a spot or two behind Wladimir.. If he beats Dawson, then he will have 3 elite and accomplished fighters on his resume: Kessler, Dawson and Froch..
This will be enough to put him in the top 5..

If he beats Dawson then he has beaten the most accomplished fighter @LHW and the two most accomplished fighters @SMW :hi:

No change because the fight is at 168.
If the fight had been on 175 and he still won clearly he should rise in the ranks.

you could make an argument that he takes over donaire's spot @ 4. i already think he's above sergio, and should be ranked 5. . .

Either 2 or 3 depending on how Manny does against Bradley. If the fight is at 168 then I would say number 3. Ward should move up and beat Dawson. He could recognized as the best super middleweight and the best light heavyweight.

I think he is rated too highly as it is. Great fighter, but let him beat a few more top opponents before putting him that high on the list. If he beats Dawson, I could see him in top 5 - behind Pacquiao/Mayweather, Marquez and Martinez. Right now, I would put him around 7 - behind Wladimir Klitschko as well. If Ward beats Bute after Dawson (and Bute beats Froch), I would put him either 3 or 4 depending on what the other guys do.

Pac, Mayweather, Donaire, Martinez, then Ward in that order.

Only aflomo would put him higher than that!!!! Winning the Super 3 is garbage.

If Pacquiao beats Bradley convincingly, that's a better win than Ward beating Dwason at 168, imo. Bradley is rated higher p4p by most (and should be - Dawson is only 1 1/2 fights away from a loss) and Dawson won't be at his best weight vs Ward. I don't think you can make a case for him surpassing Pacquiao if they both win their fights.
