Ward is an overrated primadonna with an ugly style. Don't have a clue how he got so high on these p4p lists.

“Ward is clever … But he’s not a fighter, Kessler told Boxing News.

Mikkel Kessler is an atheist when it comes to the “Son of God” “Ward just doesn’t want to fight. Sometimes you should make rules against clinching. When I fought him in 2009 he clinched me 88 times. When we watched it on tape we actually counted. I tried to push him away but he’s clever at what he does. He’s a world champion of that. But I think he’s actually scared. He throws fast punches, light punches, and then holds you. It’s so boring. That’s why he has no fans. He’s not a big name and he likes to stay at home.

Totally agree with Kessler. I agree that's why Ward hasn't got that many fans and gets a lot of hate. When I was watching Kessler vs Ward the first thing that popped into my head was "Ward's fighting scared". I thought the same thing when Garcia fought Matthysse too.

I think Wards resume is overated and feel he is in a weak era.
Wards best win was unwell, rusty, faded, double vision suffering Kessler, who had already been beaten by the old previous champ. Thats really it.
Ward hasnt beaten a top prime undefeated fighter.
He didnt clear a division really as he beat Kessler, who bea Froch, who beat Bute, but not once did he face any of them when undefeated.

When I say I feel the era is weak. I was looking at the 05/06 time ratings and you had a fighter who couldnt make the top 5 back then KOing Steiglitz who today is a top 3 and appearing even with Abraham.
Froch lost to faded Kessler coming off a loss.
There are hardly any real accomplished SMWs in the current top 10, but as I said, I feel its a weak era and Ward cant be blamed for that, though we dont know how Ward would perform if having to be an away fighter and he was never that during his time in any world title fight
