He's not in the poll options now is he?

Ward-Bute @ MSG or Staples Center, December 2012. But that's another can of worms.

If its at Staples I'll be there. Hopefully it's not a pipe dream.

Probably someone as bad as the guys Bute has been fighting for 4 years but he deserves it after his tough schedule recently.

Either location, I'd be there as well. Way more accessible than the UK. We'll have a beer. Or twelve. :D

I'll take you up on that. I've been known to drink a beer or twelve. Olde English is on me! Oh wait, I doubt there are too many Canadiens that drink pissy 7.5% malt liquor like I used to in growing up in Richmond (about 20 minutes from Oakland). Plus I'm too old to drink that **** anymore so we may have to stick to normal pounding beers so I don't pass out before the main event.

Pretty sure I can travel with a 24 of Canadian beer in my luggage. Pretty sure. :D

Otherwise might have to resort to MGD and the like, it's all good. :deal

As long as beer is being consumed at a fast rate it's all good. After the first couple beers they all go down the same. :deal

Dirrell is inactive for so long already. Not sure he'll be able to reach his full potential now. The guy is talented but not very bright.

Ward's fans always forget he faced Allan Green in the tournament. What a tough journey!

More seriously, Ward has to prepare himself to face a southpaw. It would be dumb to face an orthodox boxer before facing Bute. I guess Magee is the best choice of opponent, and by far. He's not elite but he's a solid top 10, southpaw, likes to go to the body. That fills the needs. Also, it is a doable fight. Magee doesn't mind to go to his opponents backyard.

I think it has to be Anthony Dirrell.

Should be a relatively easy fight.

And it sets up a decent money fight against Andre Dirrell. You know he will be in his brother's corner. And he will probably pull some crap afterwards to set up a revenge fight.

A Magee fight doesn't really lead to anything. Other than people still wanting him to fight Bute.

A win over Anthony Dirrell leaves Ward with 2 decent money options next: Bute or Andre D.
Also, a Ward-Andre D. fight would do decent business in the U.S. Maybe even moreso gatewise than Ward-Bute would do in the U.S. With Ward-Bute, the country the fight happens in is going to be a huge sticking point in negotiations. Wouldn't be the case with Ward-Andre D.

Andre Dirrell ditched Haymon & Shaw making it that much harder to set up 'big' fights. Anthony hasn't.. yet.

You honestly think Ward will fight his good friend Anthony over a mandatory fight? I think it would take more than that in the balance for Ward to fight a Dirrell.

Ward-Magee makes sense from a WBA, and Showtime standpoint (SHO chose him for Bute's first fight on their network, the guy's a body punching southpaw who holds a bogus WBA title).

Bute's dream is to fight at Madison Square Garden. I think that's where it makes the most sense to fight Ward at.

Hmm, maybe it wouldn't be dumb if he choses to face the winner of Kessler-Stieglitz; i think now that he'll wait to see who will win the Bute-Froch fight and after that he'll chose his easy fight for august/september
