Thx. Classic defencive boxer vs. wild puncher. Maidana threw over 1200 punches, but most of them were blocked by brilliant Kotelnik's guard, decision was very close and it was hard to score some rounds, i had Kotelnik only 1 point ahead. Hope we will see revenge it was a great fight.
hes not that powerful imo, if he was kotelniks face would have atleast been busted up and the fight would have been stopped on cuts
Kotelniks one paced fighting style is my biggest problem with him, he just pulls up that guard and absorbs the punches on his arms until his opponent backs off but to the judges and the crowd it doesn't look always look that way, sometimes it looks like hes getting overwhelmed or simply doesn't know what to do to someone who isn't familiar with his style. A few more counter punches and head movement, and most importantly, more punch out-put, and it would take a great fighter to give him trouble.
Kotelnik looks extremely durable here considering hes fighting a guy with maidana's record. The only question for me is whether kotelnik can time khans speed or counter him. If he can, this fight if going to be over quickly.
Scoring is really subjective with two fighters like this. In fact scoring always seems subjective in Kotelnik fights.
