I dont think he has time to panic as he is hurt too badly to even know "how" to react. AA just has no chin to speak of. Defensively his rather porous and he focus's way to much on his striking which to be frank he's not very good at. AA is a powerful fighter but he has so many attributes that he just doesnt use.

Clearly you've been right about AA this whole time. I'm not sure how in the hell I thought his boxing skills were good enough to make an impact in the pro boxing ranks. At HW I figured most didn't have incredible boxing skills and AA would be able to do alright. Clearly......I wasn't right by any means. I still think for MMA his boxing skills are better than most.

AA throws straighter faster rapier combinations which is rare in MMA. BUT in MMA thats not effective striking. Look at heavy handed guys like Rampage Manhoef CC and Liddell. These guys are heavy handed bonafide strikers and most of all are great counter punchers in MMA. That has always been there dimension. AA just doesnt know what he is. He listens to people too much rather than being comfortable with what he does best. The guy has a decent ground game that he neglects. He needs to learn to protect his chin and get his opponent to the mat instead of trying to stand and trade. His chin wont allow it.

AA is just trying to save his own ass. He certainly wasnt saying boxing wasnt translating well to MMA when he was beating the snot out of Rothwell and Nelson.

And I dont think any of the MMA'ers training at wild card are saying that as well. If it was true, my god it would be a colossal waste of time to train heavily in something that doesnt "translate."

I actually think AA is a decent boxer, good athletic ability but he clearly looked like crap against Rogers, committed so many boxing errors in that fight it was ridiculous. And his biggest weakness is his inability to absorb punishment. This problem will only be compounded in pro boxing. This guy literally has no shot in hell in pro boxing.

AA is actually one of the better boxers/strikers in MMA skillwise. Obviously he has a huge limitation with his glass chin but the dude can fight.

And im not sure if I misread what you wrote, but did you just say that straigher punches are not as effective in MMA?

Fedor smiles or looks stonecold about everything. These peasants don't worry him.

When he is finished with Rogers he might be arrested for the po po thinking he is a member of the KKK :)

I dont know why arlovski doesn't used his sambo skills. He is also pretty good in jujitsu so why not take the fight to the ground? He could have beat that guy if he took him down.
