Andres Gutiérrez vs. Cristian Mijares

June 4th, headlining on Televisa...vacant WBC Silver featherweight title.

Big step up in class for 34-0-1 Jaguarcito, although El Diamante is much smaller (a natural super fly as opposed to a natural super feather like Gutiérrez) plus a dozen years his senior.

Mijares, since his capstone victory - a stoppage of faded but still fiery Rafael Márquez in 2012 (arguably slightly better than his schooling of Arce, closer to his prime than Rafa was but inferior to him overall by a level or two) is 6-2 with nothing very meaningful in his W column (and one defeat, to LSC, being very one-sided) but a very controversial MD loss to highly ranked Victor Terrazas in which IMO he should've gotten the nod.

Gutiérrez's high water mark so far is dealing a TKO4 loss to Daniel "El General" Diaz, a 35 year old Nicaraguan occasional upset artist. He was a hot prospect at one point but his team seem to have abruptly hit the brakes on his development for some reason.
