    Okay, did my eyes play tricks on me? Did the ref have a consistent cadence up to the count of nine, then RUSHED to ten when we saw Machado was getting to his feet?

    I'm not. I've never been a fan and I'm still not. And I should know, I've seen his last 12 or so matches. I am however a big Machado fan, so I hate this.

    Bad stoppage, I thought Machado beat the count. Feel bad for Machado losing early again, he puts his shots together beautifully and he can really crack but his durability isn't the best. Think he needs to move up now.

    I like Machado too, but I was rooting for Cancio I gave him almost no shot at all, I'm really surprised Machado lost this one.

    You think Jojo schools him again if they rematch?

    Yep, boxing history is dotted with plenty of examples of mediocre fighters happening to have the number of a given world class fighter. Most recently I recall Gilberto José Keb Baas - versus pretty much anybody else he was meh, but he fucked up Omar Niño Romero's world on two separate occasions, a dozen years apart. :deal:

    I mean, yeah, but that is a risk fighters always run if they play the dangerous game of riding the count to buy themselves an extra moment's recovery time. It ultimately is ref's discretion; if he wants to punish you for the gambit of riding, then so be it, that's his prerogative. Risky business. Generally, if you can get up and lucidly defend yourself, best advice is get the hell up already.
