Golota of the Bowe fights and Moore of the Marciano.

Would the big pole overwhelm Moore like Marciano did? Could the ole Mongoose frustrate and beat the physically stronger but much weaker mental fighter over time?

    How would this play out?

I can see Moore being kd twice and golata on the verge of stopping him. But Archie slowly sneaking his way back in to the fight. Moore then batters his way to a split decision win.

    Moore outboxes him quite markedly.

Moore might actually decide to go for the KO early.

I feel the same as many of you.

I recently re watched Duran/Barkley and wondered if anyone could repeat what Duran did that night

Golota is bigger, younger and stronger. Archie is the smaller but greater fighter.

I would have to believe that Golota would be hurting Moore, and his size and strength would look to be overwhelming. But like Duran, Moore has that ability to rise to the occasion and make Golota pay dearly.

I see Moore knocking the talented but flawed younger man out with a straight right down the pipe in or around round 11. A good question for another topic would be. what other fighter could have done what Duran did against Barkley?

Your synopsis is spot on. It would have been skill vs brawn.

The Golota of the Bowe fights destroys him. Those two fights, especially the second, took a lot out of him. But he was a very large, athletic, dynamic boxer at that point. Stories from his gym wars were jaw dropping. The fact that he ended the career of the most promising heavyweight in years is telling. He just would be too much man for Moore, who was by far the "greater" fighter in a pound for pound and historical sense.

Big chance. Lou Duva trained Golota of the Bowe fights would be too strong and well schooled for the little man.

Golota had serious mental problems, and for that reason I have to pick the durable, tricky, relatively hard punching Archie over the unstable Andrew. Golota, though, could have been great.
