I don’t like picking Golata in fantasy fights. He was a fighter I never cared for. But against Carl Williams I think he might be a bad match.

I don't want to influence anyone's decision but I thought the same thing at first but in reality Carl Williams in his prime was only knocked out by Tyson and Weaver and his other defeat was against Holmes (which is questioned by many but in my opinion Holmes won) and he has several good victories, on the other hand Golota (who in my opinion beat Byrd and Ruiz) the most important and almost only knockout he has was against Dannell Nicholson.

Truth by DQ as Andrew goes low as he so often did.

Carl is so tall that his crotch is right in Golota’s punching zone.

Good fight! If tiny Byrd held Golota to a draw, I think the taller, rangier Williams might edge him by decision.

I just dont rate Golota at all, his performances can against the husk of Riddick Bowe and he spoiled both of them by being a fuxking idiot. Every other time he fought an opponent of thar level he got embarrassed. I'll take Willams here because his style is gonna get to Golota a lot and he will take the decision because of this.

Carl should get a decision, as long as his chin holds up.

Williams probably gets knocked down early. Golota quits later on.

The way people talk about Golota you'd think he had a career record of 0-85 all by quitting after winning lmao.

Golota wins this, he was hell for technicians to deal with.

Carl Williams was a tough skillful fighter who got off the deck to win fights and went 15 rounds with Holmes. In his prime only Weaver and Tyson stopped him, two very explosive punchers. He's going to be around all night.
Golota quit or fouled out 4 times in his prime, over a 4 year period. That's why people remark on it and factor it in.

He was also stopped in 1 round by Lewis which isn't any better than Williams would have done.

And that's pretty much all he ever accomplished in his career. Went 15 rounds with an aging Holmes that later lost to Spinks.
Williams would get KO'd if he read the word "left hook", a guy that had Bowe bouncing around the ring will hurt him just fine.
Yeah, when he was getting brutally battered by some of the hardest punchers ever. Golota beat Po'uha with one of his eyes looking like a flower, he's not gonna get discouraged by Williams' jabs and Williams won't be able to take his assault in the pocket.
    What is Lewis' relevance here?

Both Golota and Williams were losers at the elite levels.
You're correct Williams was wide open to left hooks but he still won fights where he was knocked down by them.
Golota couldn't win against Michael Grant so i think he'd lose similarly to Williams. But it could go the other way.
(Lewis is not relevant. I was just hammering the point that Golota was blown out by explosive punchers too, so matches the weakness of Williams in that regard. Which shouldn't be a factor either way because neither was really an elite explosive puncher.)

Williams... tougher and more tenacious than he appears. Weaver had a lot of luck with him... Holmes too... Carl Williams is terribly underrated. I think that before the Morrison war, he was better than the best Golota from the Bowe fights. Better than Grant or Nicholson. Of course, Carl's style wouldn't be a match for Andrzej, so it could be a great fight. Two short starters, two outfighters, but Carl was better at close quarters, despite everything.

Close fight, but I think the fundamentals of Golota probably take it, but if Carl Williams hurts him, Golota may capitulate.
