Does Golota outbox him or does Tua replicate the Ruiz and Moorer efforts?

Golota outboxes him until losing it.

Golota would outbox Tua, until later rounds, when the Polish G realises that tua is still here and not going anywhere, then doubts creep into Gs head and he does something crazy or Tua knocks him the Funk out.

    Good match-up.

Golota could beat him but you know he would mess it up somehow.

Tua by late KO or disqualification are the strongest possibilties.

I posted a thread once asking for people's opinions on who would win between Corrie Sanders and Golota. One person responded with "Golota easily outboxes Sanders before finding some ingenious way to not win." That's pretty much how I see Tua-Golota going. Golota's size and skills have a great chance to keep Tua away and let Golota pile up rounds, but eventually I think Tua catches him at some point in the fight, and Golota is toast once that happens. Tua usually catches his opponents a couple of times pretty solidly during a fight, and unless your name is Ike Ibeabuchi, you usually don't survive those hits.

Tua by TKO from 7-9 is my guess, but he could get lucky and catch Golota earlier.

Golota supposedly used to regularly get the best of Tua in some heated sparring sessions back when both guys were with Main Events, where they apparently stopped pitting Golota against him because they didn't want to ruin Tua's confidence.

That said, either Golota wins on points or as others have noted, Golota would be ahead on points before finding some new and innovative way to blow it in the later rounds.

I'll take Golota on points myself. If guys like Rahman and Maskaev were able to trouble Tua, Golota was significantly better than those 2 in '96.

    Good post.

You know i forgot about the Golota/Tua sparring stories.

Still Golota blows it when the bright lights are on him.

I can't really argue with that, but he did have two redeeming efforts against Byrd and Ruiz a few years after the Golota debacle, and I honestly believe he deserved the nod in both of those fights. People thought Byrd would easily frustrate and defeat Golota in what wound up being one of the most entertaining heavyweight title fights we've had in the past 10 years.

I've also heard that Golota was a "gym fighter" who used to beat up on Tua

Golota did well against everyone in the gym, thats why he progressed a lot faster than Tua did. They did spar alot in the early days of their careers.

Yeah he did redeem himself. My fear for him with Tua, is that once he gets hit hard he tends to become unpredictable. Tua hit harder than Byrd and Ruiz put together.
